New York Red Bulls 3-2 Portland Timbers

New York Red Bulls come from two goals down to earn a dramatic 3-2 win over Portland Timbers at the Red Bull Arena.

New York Red Bulls have come from two goals down to beat Portland Timbers 3-2 at the Red Bull Arena.

The win has lifted Hans Backe's side to within two points of Eastern Conference leaders Sporting Kansas City.

The visitors took the lead after only eight minutes when Bright Dike finished off a counter attack by finding the top corner.

It was 2-0 midway through the half thanks to Darlington Nagbe's strike following another break.

New York got themselves back into the match on 42 minutes through Kenny Cooper's header and they were level at the break as Tim Cahill scored his first goal for his new club.

The turaround was complete with just eight minutes remaining courtesy of Heath Pearce's second goal of the campaign.
