Real Madrid confirm that they have loaned Theo Hernandez to Real Sociedad for the 2018-19 season.

Real Madrid have confirmed that defender Theo Hernandez will spend the 2018-19 season on loan at Real Sociedad.

Hernandez joined Madrid from city rivals Atletico Madrid last summer and went on to make 23 appearances for the club across all competitions, including three outings in their victorious Champions League campaign.

However, the left-back has been deemed surplus to requirements this year by new boss Julen Lopetegui and will now spend the entire upcoming campaign on loan with Sociedad.

Hernandez underwent his medical at the Policlinica Gipuzkoa this morning and will be officially presented as a Sociedad player in the coming days.

The 20-year-old France youth international, who also spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Alaves, will rejoin Real Madrid on June 30, 2019.
