Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Real Betis

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's La Liga clash with Real Betis.

Real Madrid will be looking to record their first victory of the 2020-21 La Liga campaign when they travel to Seville to take on Real Betis this weekend.

Zinedine Zidane's side opened their title defence with a goalless draw at Real Sociedad on Sunday night.

Los Blancos had a number of injury issues heading into the clash with the Basque club but are hopeful of potentially recovering some players in time for Saturday's game with Betis.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash.

Eden Hazard

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: September 26 (vs. Betis)

Hazard is currently battling an ankle problem and was not involved in Madrid's first La Liga game of the season against Sociedad. The Belgian has not been officially ruled out of this weekend's contest and has been on the training field this week, but he is still a major doubt for the team's second game of the new domestic campaign.

Marco Asensio

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: September 26 (vs. Betis)

A knee injury is threatening to rule Asensio out of this weekend's contest with Betis, which was also the case against Sociedad. The Spain international's latest issue is not believed to be serious, and he has been training this week, but a spot in the squad on Saturday is still thought to be unlikely.

Isco

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: September 26 (vs. Betis)

Isco is currently struggling to overcome an ankle injury in time for the second match of the season, but the Spaniard is thought to have a better chance of featuring than Hazard or Asensio.

Eder Militao

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: September 26 (vs. Betis)

Eder Militao was not involved against Sociedad due to a muscular problem that he picked up against Getafe in a pre-season clash last week. However, the central defender has a chance of making the bench this weekend.

Mariano Diaz

Status: Out
Type of injury: Tonsillitis
Possible return date: Unknown

Madrid will again be without the services of Mariano Diaz this weekend as the forward recently underwent surgery for tonsillitis and is continuing his recovery at home.

Lucas Vazquez

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Overload
Possible return date: September 26 (vs. Betis)

Zidane did not call upon Lucas Vazquez last weekend due to concerns over the Spaniard's fitness. The experienced attacker has been training this week, though, and is likely to be available for selection.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Madrid have no suspension issues ahead of Saturday's clash.
