Preview: Queens Park Rangers vs. Bristol City - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship clash between Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Queens Park Rangers head into their Championship fixture with Bristol City looking to bounce back from suffering their first defeat of the season earlier this week.

While the Robins are currently occupying a spot in mid-table, the visitors have put together a three-match unbeaten streak.

QPR have emerged as one of the most improved sides over the opening six weeks of the season, Mark Warburton's side producing plenty of goals and entertainment.

However, there will be frustration within the camp after Tuesday's 2-1 reverse against Bournemouth, QPR ultimately been left to pay for a slow start to the game at the Vitality Stadium.

While the result will be put into context, Warburton has been left unhappy with large aspects of their recent performances, the sole success being a 2-0 win over in-form Coventry City.

QPR have already shown this season that they are capable of battling back from a deficit to claim important points, defences being left fearful of their attack-minded play.

Nevertheless, Warburton and his squad will quickly drop down into the mid-table positions if they cannot rediscover their previous resoluteness in defence.

Nigel Pearson will share a similar level of frustration with his opposite number after witnessing his side concede yet another late goal.

Bristol City have twice been in a position to end their dismal run at Ashton Gate this season, only to concede last-gasp efforts to Blackpool and Luton Town.

The positives will be taken from avoiding defeat since before the international break, but the Robins could be occupying a place in the top seven.

While QPR have not suffered defeat at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium this season, City have collected six points from their three away fixtures.

Team News

Warburton may give consideration to naming Albert Adomah as a replacement for Osman Kakay at right wing-back.

Andre Gray will hope to be introduced into the attack with Charlie Austin unlikely to recover from the injury which kept him out of the Bournemouth fixture.

Luke Amos is unlikely to be handed a start until next week's EFL Cup fixture with Everton.

Pearson is expected to make at least one change to his Bristol City side after replacing Alex Scott before the break against Luton.

Andy King could return to the middle of the pitch, allowing Han-Noah Massengo to feature down the right flank.

A reshuffle at the back may lead to Tomas Kalas moving to right-back, Nathan Baker switching to centre-back and Jay Dasilva getting a start on the left.

Queens Park Rangers possible starting lineup:
Dieng; Dickie, De Wijs, Barbet; Adomah, Ball, Johansen, McCallum; Chair; Dykes, Willock

Bristol City possible starting lineup:
Bentley; Kalas, Atkinson, Baker, Dasilva; Massengo, James, King, Pring; Martin, Weimann

We say: Queens Park Rangers 3-1 Bristol City

Bristol City will be relieved to be back playing away from Ashton Gate and will fancy their chances of causing an upset. However, QPR continue to look dangerous in attack, leading us to predict a convincing win for the Hoops.
