Lars Veldwijk netted a hat-trick as PEC Zwolle defeated SBV Excelsior 3-0 in the Eredivisie.

PEC started the match strongly with Sheraldo Becker testing Filip Kurto and Ouasim Bouy shooting wide.

Veldwijk scored his first after 13 minutes and the lead was doubled in the 25th minute.

Excelsior had chances to pull a goal back but Tom van Weert twice shot wide, before Veldwijk completed his treble on the hour mark.

PEC had the chance to extend their lead in the 84th minute but Stefan Nijland missed from the penalty spot.
