Borussia Dortmund could only manage a draw at Nurnberg in this afternoon's Bundesliga contest despite dominating play at the Frankenstadion.

Jurgen Klopp's side controlled the early stages, but the home side restricted them to long-range strikes, few of which troubled Raphael Schafer.

Mats Hummels and Lukasz Piszczek were left ruing their wastefulness in front of goal just after the half-hour mark when Czech striker Tomas Pekhart gave the hosts the lead against the run of play.

The lead didn't last long, though. Dortmund turned up the heat and almost levelled the match when Ivan Perisic struck the post on 39 minutes.

Klopp's side went one better a minute later, drawing level through Polish international Jakub Blaszczykowski to send the teams into the break at 1-1.

It was a scrappy opening to the second half. Dortmund remained the better side, but squandered chances through Neven Subotic and Hummels.

The home side also pulled off a shock in the dying stages when Slovakian striker Robert Mak's strike came back off the woodwork, but Dortmund will be frustrated to come away with only a point.
