FIFA 22 Newcastle United ratings: Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson, Miguel Almiron

Sports Mole rounds up Newcastle United's FIFA 22 ratings and picks out the highlights from Steve Bruce's side ahead of the full game's release.

With FIFA 22 hitting consoles on October 1, EA Sports have slowly dished out player updates, firstly announcing the top-22 ranked players before extending that to a list of 100 recently.

Ultimate Team website FUTBIN have now released the entire database for player ratings on this year's game, allowing fans a first look at how their players have been ranked, and whether they face upgrades or downgrades compared to last year.

Following last season's 12th-placed finish in the Premier League, Newcastle United supporters may be disappointed to see several players in their squad hit with downgrades heading into the latest edition of the game.

Here, Sports Mole picks out the highlights of Newcastle's FIFA 22 cards and provides the full list of the club's ratings ahead of the game's release.

Allan Saint-Maximin - 79

French winger Allan Saint-Maximin has been hit with several downgrades across the board, but still remains one of the most attractive in-game cards, with an overall rating of 79, topped only by goalkeeper Martin Dubravka in the squad.

The drop could certainly be seen as harsh, considering the entertaining attacker has registered two goals and two assists in five Premier League appearances so far this season, and regularly shines over the rest of the Magpies' squad with his tricky dribbling.

That has, at least, been reflected in his card this year, as the Frenchman boasts 91 pace and 87 dribbling, despite that pace being two fewer than in FIFA 21.

A further bonus is that he is one of just 11 players in the Premier League to boast five-star skills, joining the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Jadon Sancho and Riyad Mahrez as the league's elite dribblers.

Callum Wilson - 79

Forward Callum Wilson joined Newcastle from Bournemouth at the beginning of the 2020-21 campaign, following the Cherries' relegation to the Championship, and he made a strong start to life in the North East, registering 12 goals and five assists in 26 Premier League appearances last season.

He continued his impressive goal-scoring form at the beginning of the new term, hitting two goals in the first three games, but has since been ruled out with an injury.

Given he played a crucial role in the Magpies avoiding relegation last season, it may be somewhat surprising that the English forward has only been handed a +1 upgrade this year to a 79 overall card, although that does put him level with Saint-Maximin as their joint-second highest-rated card.

His clinical edge was reflected in the upgrade of his shooting to 78, while values of 80 pace and 78 dribbling make him a well-rounded forward in the game.

Miguel Almiron - 77

The other exciting attacker in Newcastle's ranks is Miguel Almiron, who has, similarly to Saint-Maximin, been hit with a downgrade in his overall rating.

Despite often struggling for an end product, having only netted 13 goals and provided five assists in 97 games across all competitions, the Paraguay international has certainly proved his worth at St. James' Park, making himself a key figure in the attacking line.

However, with only four goals and an assist in the Premier League last season, it is somewhat understandable that Almiron's overall rating has been dropped to 77, although his shooting has questionably been raised from 71 to 72.

Boasting pace and dribbling stats of 86 and 79 respectively, he is certainly a valuable in-game asset, reflecting his dynamic and positive play style, and ability to quickly carry the ball up the pitch for Steve Bruce's side.
