Manchester United are reportedly planning to revamp their scouting department ahead of a major squad overhaul this summer.

Manchester United are reportedly planning a major overhaul in the summer as they look to close the gap to the Premier League's leading clubs.

Wednesday night's 2-0 home defeat to Burnley left the Red Devils 33 points adrift of runaway leaders Liverpool, with the fans making their unhappiness with the board and Ed Woodward known during the game.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also come in for criticism, but the board are understood to have no plans to sack the under-fire Norwegian.

Instead, the Daily Mail reports that they will give him one more transfer window and plan to revamp the scouting department in order to identify players to help the team restore their former glories.

Recruitment has been one of the main criticisms levelled at the club's hierarchy, but they are willing to invest in a new team of backroom staff before overseeing an overhaul of the playing squad during the summer.

Solskjaer has reportedly already given United a three-man transfer wishlist which includes Jadon Sancho, Declan Rice and Sander Berge.
