Jose Mourinho makes four changes to his Manchester United side after their humiliation at Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho has made four changes to his Manchester United starting XI after their 4-0 humiliation at Chelsea last time out.

Three of those changes come in the back four, with only Daley Blind retaining his place to face a Burnley side that claimed a surprise victory over Everton last weekend.

Eric Bailly misses out with a knee injury, while Antonio Valencia is absent for surgery on an arm fracture and Chris Smalling drops out of the matchday squad altogether as Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw earn recalls.

The other change sees Juan Mata usurp Marouane Fellaini after the Spaniard scored the winner against bitter rivals Manchester City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney overcomes injury to take a place on the bench alongside Michael Carrick and Morgan Schneiderlin.

For the visitors, Sean Dyche makes just one change, with Michael Kightly dropping to the subs' bench to make room for the returning Andre Gray.

Manchester United: De Gea; Darmian, Rojo, Blind, Shaw; Herrera, Pogba, Lingard, Mata, Rashford; Ibrahimovic
Subs: Romero, Carrick, Fellaini, Schneiderlin, Young, Memphis, Rooney

Burnley: Heaton; Ward, Mee, Keane, Lowton; Gudmundsson, Marney, Hendrick, Arfield; Gray, Vokes
Subs: Flanagan, Kightly, Barnes, Bamford, Robinson, Tarkowski, Boyd
