Roy Keane says that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, not Jose Mourinho, is the "special one".

Roy Keane has taken a dig at Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho by describing the Portuguese's rival Pep Guardiola as the "special one".

Mourinho gave himself the 'special one' moniker when he arrived in England to take over Chelsea in 2004 having just won the Champions League with Porto.

The nickname has stayed with the 53-year-old throughout his career, but Keane - a former United captain - believes that Guardiola is the more impressive manager in Manchester.

The Spaniard, who has previously coached Barcelona and Bayern Munich, has a 100% win record at Manchester City so far, having overseen seven wins in all competitions.

The 45-year-old has also made big decisions early in his spell, one of which resulted in goalkeeper Joe Hart moving to Torino on loan.

"He said he's a challenging coach - doesn't look like he messes about," Keane told ITV. "I wouldn't like to mess with him.

"Two coaches in Manchester. Mourinho reckons he's the special one, to me this guy is. We've seen City have good stats before and they take their foot off the gas a little bit, but I don't think it will happen under this guy."

City's next game will be against Bournemouth this weekend.
