Wayne Rooney starts for Manchester United against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League as David Moyes makes six changes in total.

Wayne Rooney starts for Manchester United as they host Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League this evening.

Manager David Moyes has made six changes in total from the team that were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle United on Saturday, with Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez dropped in favour of Rooney and Shinji Kagawa.

Moyes has also recalled Ryan Giggs, Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Young, while there is a place for Alexander Buttner in defence.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian quartet of Douglas Costa, Luiz Adriano, Alex Teixeira and Taison all start for the Ukrainian side.
