Raheem Sterling earns a recall for Manchester City's trip to Southampton.

Raheem Sterling is back up front this afternoon for Manchester City's trip to Southampton.

The England international comes in for Gabriel Jesus alongside Leroy Sane and Bernardo Silva as Pep Guardiola's side aim to reach an unprecedented 100-point tally in the Premier League.

Kevin De Bruyne is back in the starting XI at the expense of Yaya Toure, who played his last game for City in Wednesday night's 3-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Belgian playmaker is joined in the centre of the park by Fernandinho and Ilkay Gundogan, while there are two changes in defence as John Stones and Fabian Delph replace skipper Vincent Kompany and Oleksandr Zinchenko alongside Danilo and Aymeric Laporte.

Claudio Bravo again gets the nod between the posts, with Ederson instead among Guardiola's options on the bench.

As for the hosts, Mark Hughes is forced into just one change following their vital win over Swansea City on Tuesday night that all but guaranteed their Premier League survival, barring a remarkable set of events this afternoon.

Jan Bednarek picked up a head injury in that encounter and consequently is replaced by Wesley Hoedt at right-back.

Hughes is expected to stick with a back three today, with Maya Yoshida in the middle and Jack Stephens on the left ahead of Alex McCarthy between the sticks.

Cedric Soares, Ryan Bertrand, Oriol Romeu and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg make up a four-man midfield, while Dusan Tadic, Charlie Austin and Nathan Redmond spearhead the attack.

Southampton: McCarthy; Hoedt, Yoshida, Stephens; Cedric, Bertrand, Romeu, Hojberg; Tadic, Austin, Redmond
Subs: Forster, McQueen, Pied, Sims, Ward-Prowse, Gabbiadini, Long

Manchester City: Bravo; Danilo, Stones, Laporte, Delph; Fernandinho, Gundogan, De Bruyne; Bernardo, Sane, Sterling
Subs: Ederson, Walker, Kompany, Zinchenko, Jesus, Diaz, Foden
