Argentina's Sergio Aguero could join Lionel Messi in retiring from international football

Sergio Aguero admits that he is considering his international future after Lionel Messi announced his retirement from the Argentina national team.

Sergio Aguero has admitted that he is considering his international future after Lionel Messi announced his retirement from Argentina duty.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner confirmed his decision minutes after Argentina lost the Copa America final to Chile 4-2 in a penalty shootout.

Messi, who has lost four finals with Argentina, was in tears on the final whistle after he blazed a penalty over the bar.

The Barcelona star's retirement has now caused Aguero to think about his own future on the international stage.

"There are various players who are evaluating not to continue with the national team," the Manchester City striker told reporters. "It is the worst dressing room I've ever been involved in. Worse than the World Cup final in Brazil and the other Copa America."

Argentina have not won a major title since 1993 when they lifted the Copa America trophy.
