Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester United

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Manchester City's pursuit of Premier League leaders Liverpool will continue on Saturday when Pep Guardiola's side welcome Manchester United to the Etihad Stadium.

The reigning champions moved to within eight points of the Reds with a 4-1 win at Burnley on Tuesday, although Jurgen Klopp's side will have the chance to stretch the lead back to 11 against Everton on Wednesday.

City have already lost a home Premier League match this season, suffering a 2-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the start of October.

The Citizens have won three of their last four league clashes with United, though, and will be determined to collect another three points in this weekend's Manchester derby.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash.

Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Leroy Sane has been on the sidelines since injuring knee ligaments against Liverpool in the Community Shield back in August. The Germany international, who continues to be linked with Bayern Munich, is expected to return in early 2020, although there is no clear date at this stage.

Aymeric Laporte

Key central defender Aymeric Laporte underwent surgery earlier this season after damaging knee cartilage. The France international claimed earlier this week that he expected to return to action within the next two months, meaning that he could feasibly feature against West Ham United on February 8.

Oleksandr Zinchenko has recently returned to training after recovering from knee surgery, although it remains to to be seen whether Guardiola is prepared to throw him straight back into the XI this weekend.

Sergio Aguero

Possible return date: December 15 (vs. Arsenal)

Sergio Aguero has missed City's last three matches with the thigh injury that he picked up against Chelsea on November 23. The Argentina international will not be available for the Manchester derby but could be involved against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on December 15.

MAN CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

City have no suspension concerns for this match and will welcome Ilkay Gundogan back into the fold after the midfielder missed the clash with Burnley due to a one-game ban.
