9.42Meanwhile, a full report of Spain's elimination can be found here.

9.41Phew! What a day of football! Our match report of Team GB's win over UAE can be found here.

9.39SPAIN HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED FROM THE TOURNAMENT.

9.39FULL-TIME: Spain 0-1 Honduras: Favourites Spain have been eliminated from the tournament following a 1-0 defeat to Honduras. The only goal of the game came after seven minutes courtesy of Bengston - his third in two games.

9.38Spain are currently heading out of the tournament with barely a minute remaining.

9.36Team GB move top of Group A following a 3-1 win over UAE. Stuart Pearce's side just need a single point to be sure of qualification. Meanwhile, UAE have been eliminated from the tournament. It was Giggs who gave Team GB an early lead before Eisa levelled it at 1-1. However, late goals from Sinclair and Sturridge secured all three points.

FULL-TIMETeam GB 3-1 United Arab Emirates

9.34Chance for Allen to hit one from distance, but it was always moving wide of the desired target.

9.32We will play an additional three minutes at the end of the 90. The game has sort of died in the past ten minutes or so.

9.30Update: Spain 0-1 Honduras: Five minutes remaining. As it stands, Spain are heading out.

9.28Not a great deal happening in the final moments with both sides handing possession to each other.

9.26Bright play from Team GB as Richards finds Ramsey down the right, but the Arsenal man decides to keep possession rather than lumping it into the box. Little over five minutes remaining at Wembley.

9.26Meanwhile, change for Team GB as Bellamy is replaced by Jack Cork.

9.24Goals certainly change games - and that third goal for Team GB has just killed off UAE's threat.

9.22Meanwhile, change for UAE as Khamis Esmaeel replaces Fardan.

9.22As it stands: Spain are heading out of the 2012 Olympic Games.

9.20As it stands, Team GB are moving to the top of Group A.

9.18Team GB put the match beyond doubt as Sturridge produces a wonderful chip over the goalkeeper following a Cleverley pass.

9.18GOAL! Team GB 3-1 UAE (Sturridge)

9.18So nearly three for Team GB as Sturridge advances on goal, but his strike is wide. We have little over 15 minutes remaining, can UAE respond?

9.16Team GB take the lead once more and it's Sinclair with his first touch as he meets a Bellamy cross to tap home from close range.

9.16GOAL! Team GB 2-1 UAE (Sinclair)

9.14Update: Spain 0-1 Honduras: Spain still trail 1-0 with 20 minutes remaining.

9.12Change for UAE as Matar is replaced by Ahmed Ali. Meanwhile, Scott Sinclair replaces Giggs for Team GB.

9.10There's only one team who are looking to win this right now - and it isn't Team GB. The UAE are really playing some lovely football at the moment.

9.08Suddenly the UAE are causing all sorts of problems with their direct running. Meanwhile, Team GB's attack has just disappeared.

9.06Chance! Wonderful opportunity for UAE as Eisa dances past Ramsey in the box, but his effort is cleared by Richards.

9.06The atmosphere inside Wembley is just non-existent. Meanwhile, UAE have a real spring in their step following the goal. This one could go either way now.

9.04Where do Team GB go from here? They have let a first-half lead drift away for the second game running.

9.02UAE are level and it's a wonderful goal from Eisa as he sprints past the Team GB defence before finishing from close range.

9.02GOAL! Team GB 1-1 UAE (Eisa)

9.02Little over 30 minutes to play at Wembley and Team GB remain 1-0 ahead. UAE just have not threatened thus far.

9.00Update: Spain 0-1 Honduras: 55 minutes played. Spain are heading out as it stands.

8.58Another sighter for Team GB as Bellamy ghosts into the area, but his shot is blocked once more. Meanwhile, Sturridge curls a shot straight at Khaseif.

8.56Chance for Team GB to get bodies on the box as Giggs whips a corner into the box, but the danger is cleared by Ahmed.

8.54Chance! So nearly an equaliser for UAE as Khalil strikes from outside the box - and his effort clips the post.

8.52Decent build-up from Team GB as Allen finds his Swansea City teammate Taylor, but his cross is too high. Meanwhile, Khaseif denies Sturridge at close range.

8.52Meanwhile, change for UAE as Hussain is replaced by Saad Surour.

8.50It's brilliant defensive work from Richards as he throws himself into a tackle with Khalil. The Manchester City man has been impressive on the right today.

8.48Half-chance for Team GB as Bellamy searches out Sturridge in the box, but Khaseif was quick off his line to collect.

8.46Early involvement from Sturridge as he searches out Bellamy on the left, but his pass is just too long. Can UAE respond in this second half?

8.46Meanwhile, Spain vs. Honduras is also underway in the second period.

8.45Change for Team GB at the interval with Daniel Sturridge coming on in place for Sordell.

8.32HALF-TIME: Spain 0-1 Honduras: Spain are heading out of the tournament as it stands as they trail 1-0 to Honduras after 45 minutes of football.

8.30Brilliant first-half performance from Team GB as they enter the break one-goal ahead. The strike came from an all-Welsh connection as Bellamy found Giggs at the far-post and the veteran midfielder headed time. In truth, UAE have offered very little in attack and have never really threatened Butland in the Great Britain goal.

HALf-TIMETeam GB 1-0 UAE

8.28Meanwhile, we will play an additional two minutes of added time at the end of the half.

8.26Wonderful chance for Team GB as Bellamy finds Cleverley, but his effort smashes both posts before rolling out for the goalkeeper to collect. How is it not 2-0?

8.24Sordell continues to impress as he links up with Giggs, but the move just breaks down in the area.

8.22Half-chance for Bellamy as the Liverpool man is found by Giggs, but his shot is straight at the goalkeeper when he might have done better.

8.20Still Team GB continue to dominate possession in midfield. However, there the ground remains silent.

8.18Sighter for UAE as Rashed Eisa feeds Matar in an advanced position, but once more it breaks down. Meanwhile, Sordell tests the palms of Khaseif at the other end.

8.16Update: Spain 0-1 Honduras: Jerry Bengston's seventh minute goal still leads the match. 30 minutes played.

8.14Half-chance for Team GB as Giggs flights a cross onto the head of Sordell, but it never had enough power to worry the goalkeeper.

8.14Just as I say that, Al-Kamali strikes from outside the box, but Butland just lets it drift over.

8.12UAE have failed to register a shot on target after nearly 30 minutes of football. Saying that they have been poor would be a huge understatement.

8.10Nice football from Team GB as Giggs searches out the run of Ramsey, but his pass is just cut out by Khalil.

8.08Chance for Team GB to whip a cross into the box, however, Giggs's effort is cleared by Mohamed Ahmad.

8.08Update: Spain 0-1 Honduras: Honduras remain 1-0 ahead with 22 minutes on the clock.

8.06Team GB continue to dominate possession of the ball as the 22 minute mark approaches. It's ever so comfortable for Pearce's side at the moment.

8.04It has to be said that the atmosphere is not great inside Wembley this evening. Where are the songs? Oh, there isn't any! UAE just have not got going thus far.

8.02Fantastic start from Team GB. It just had to be Giggs didn't it. 24 seasons at Manchester United in the first team. Incredible footballer.

8.00Team GB take the lead and it's the skipper Giggs as he meets a Bellamy cross in the box to head it past Khaseif.

8.00GOAL! Team GB 1-0 United Arab Emirates (Giggs)

7.58Decent spell of possession for Team GB with Allen and Cleverly involved. However, no real clear opportunites thus far.

7.56Half-chance for Bellamy as he attempts a shot inside the area, but the danger is blocked. Not a great deal of tempo to the match thus far.

7.54Spain will be out of the tournament if they lose this evening. Quite incredible! But it is still very early days.

7.54Spain will be out of the tournament if they lose this evening. Quite incredible! But it is still very early days.

7.54Update: GOAL! Spain 0-1 Honduras (Bengston): Honduras lead against Spain and it's Bengston with his third goal in two games.

7.52Decent looking ball from Giggs as he searches out Bellamy down the left, but Ali Khaseif is on hand to collect the ball.

7.52It's good work from Cleverley in midfield as he robs possession from Amer Abdulrahman. The match is just a bit bitty at the moment.

7.50It's bright work from Khalil down the left, but Steven Caulker comes across to clear the danger. Meanwhile, the corner is cleared by Sordell.

7.48Chance for UAE to get behind the Team GB defence as Ahmed Khalil searches out Matar, but Butland comes to collect the danger.

7.46UAE skipper Ismaeil Matar will look to set the tempo for his side this evening. Meanwhile, another sighter for Team GB as Giggs searches out Sordell in the box.

7.45Immediate chance for Team GB to get on the scoresheet as Bellamy searches out Allen in the box, but the cross is just too long.

7.45Here we go then. Team GB get us underway on this chilly night in London.

7.44Just a reminder that Spain vs. Honduras will also get underway in the next moment or two.

7.42No is the answer! A couple of mumbles along the line. Although, Jack Butland is singing his heart out. Well done that man.

7.42National anthem time. Lively opening from UAE. Can Team GB follow suit with equally strong singing?

7.42Here we go then. The two sets of players are emerging onto the pitch.

7.40Meanwhile, former Liverpool defender Alan Hansen has called for "improvement" on the BBC. Will see that this evening?

7.38What about the decision to drop Sturridge? The Chelsea man is clearly not fit - and Sordell has a huge chance to impress this evening.

7.36Little over ten minutes until kickoff at Wembley. I have a feeling that we could be in for a classic this evening.

7.34Garth Crooks on the BBC thinks that Micah Richards will be given freedom to attack this evening. One thing is for certain, Pearce's side need to create more openings.

7.32Just a reminder that Senegal defeated Uruguay 2-1 earlier today to leave themselves top of Group A with four points. However, Team GB could move above them with three points this evening.

7.30You just get the feeling that Stuart Pearce needs a bit more from his midfield runners. Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs will be expected to dictate the tempo of the match.

7.28Back to Team GB for a moment, and Joe Allen has such a vital role this evening alongside Tom Cleverley.

7.26Couple of changes for Spain with Muniain and Botia both coming into the outfit. It looks a really forceful team on paper. Meanwhile, Jerry Bengston continues in attack for Honduras.

7.24Meanwhile, the team news for Spain's match with Honduras can be found here.

7.22Ryan Bertrand has also dropped out of the side with James Tomkins coming in. Ryan Giggs remains the skipper. Meanwhile, Bellamy joins Sordell in attack.

7.20Let's take another look at the Team GB outfit for tonight's match with UAE. Sordell has been given the nod in attack over Sturridge. Meanwhile, Ramsey comes in for Rose.

7.09Meanwhile, Senegal 2-0 Uruguay can be found here.

7.07South Korea 2-1 Switzerland can be found here.

7.05Japan 1-0 Morocco can be found here.

7.03Meanwhile, we also have three match reports to bring you courtesy of Liam Apicella.

7.00Full team news for Team GB vs. UAE can be found here.

6.58FULL-TIME: Korea 2-1 Switzerland: Korea move top of Group B following two goals in the second period against Switzerland.

6.56BREAKING: Iker Muniain starts for Spain against Honduras. Full team news to follow.

6.54BREAKING: Marvin Sordell, Aaron Ramsey, James Tomkins start for Team GB. Full team news to follow.

6.52FULL-TIME: Senegal 2-0 Uruguay: Senegal move to the top of Group A following a first-half double from Konate. Meanwhile, Uruguay remain second with three points.

6.50Japan make it six points out of six following the late strike from Nagai. Meanwhile, Morocco must get something from their next clash against Spain to have a chance of progressing.

FULL-TIMEJapan 1-0 Morocco

6.50Time is running out for Morocco. They need something special, but Gonda powerfully thumps a Labyad free-kick clear.

6.48We will play three minutes of additional time.

6.46Change for Japan as Kiyotake is replaced by Kenyu Sugimoto.

6.46Change for Morocco as Fettouhi is replaced by Soufian El Hassanoui. Can they salvage something?

6.44Is that the goal that sends Japan into the latter stages of the tournament? It certainly looks that way.

6.42Japan take the lead in spectacular fashion as Nagai chips the on-rushing Amsif.

6.42Update: GOAL! Korea 2-1 Switzerland (Kim): Bok-Young Kim sends Korea back into the lead after 64 minutes.

6.40Really nice combination work from Japan with Nagai and Kiyotake involved, but the latter is crowded out at the final moment.

6.38Update: GOAL! Korea 1-1 Switzerland (Emeghara): Switzerland level the match at one apiece as Innocent Emeghara finds the back of the net.

6.36Chance! Glorious chance for Yamaguchi as he advances into the Moroccan box, but his shot is high and wide.

6.34It's a waste from Otsu as he plays it straight out of play. Meanwhile, he is replaced by Manabu Saito.

6.32Update: GOAL! Korea 1-0 Switzerland (Park): Korea take the lead against Switzerland with 57 minutes on the clock courtesy of Chu-Young Park.

6.30Another change for Morocco as Omar El Kaddouri replaces Bidaoui. We remain level at 0-0 with 15 minutes remaining.

6.28Change for Morocco as Amrabat is replace by Imad Najah.

6.26Chance! Best chance of the half for Japan as Higashi strikes from inside the box, but Amsif pushes the ball wide. Really smart goalkeeping.

6.24Update: Senegal 2-0 Uruguay: It remains 2-0 to Senegal with 25 minutes remaining in the Group A encounter.

6.22Little over 25 minutes remaining in this one. Will we have a winner? If it stays this way, Morocco would have two points to their name. Meanwhile, Japan would have four.

6.20It's a decent spell of possession for Morocco as they attempt to take the sting out of the Japan attack. However, they are not really going anywhere.

6.18This time it's Nagai who races into the Moroccan box, but his effort is wide.

6.16Update: Korea 0-0 Switzerland: The second half is underway.

6.14Chance! Best chance of the second period falls to Amrabat, however, he can only fire wide from close range.

6.12Not one of the best games you will see all year if truth be told. It's just so bitty in the middle of the park. Someone needs to inject a bit of pace into this one.

6.10It's Morocco who continue to look the most likely as Bidaoui meets a corner, but his header is straight at Gonda.

6.08Again it's Labyad and Amrabat who combine in the box, but the latter's header is wide of the target.

6.06Extremely quiet opening to the second period between these two sides. Where's that Mexican wave?

6.04It's nice feet from Labyad as he searches out Amrabat in the box, but once more the final ball is lacking.

6.02Spell of possession for Morocco in the early stages of the second period. Will we see a goal this half?

6.02HALF-TIME: Korea 0-0 Switzerland: Not a great deal to note between the pair as they remain tied at 0-0 at the break.

6.00Japan vs. Morocco and Senegal vs. Uruguay are both underway in the second period.

5.58Meanwhile, our very own Liam Apicella has also summed up the first period between Senegal and Uruguay here.

5.56Our report of the opening 45 minutes between Japan and Morocco can be found here.

5.54Meanwhile, both sides had six shots on goal. Struggling to remember them? Me too!

5.52Let's take a look at the statistics from that opening half between Japan and Morocco. The African outfit just shaded possession with 51%.

5.50Update: Korea 0-0 Switzerland: The Group B rivals remain level with 35 minutes on the clock.

5.48HALF-TIME: Senegal 2-0 Uruguay: Two goals from Konate hands Senegal a 2-0 half-time lead over Group A rivals Uruguay.

5.46So there we have it. The Group D rivals remain level at the interval with relatively few chances of note.

HALF-TIMEJapan 0-0 Morocco

5.44Chance! Best chance of the match for Japan as Yoshida meets a corner in the box, but it is just over the bar.

5.44Controversy at the end of the half as Japan feel that an Daisuke Suzuki header crosses the line, however, nothing was given.

5.42Meanwhile, Japan are certainly ending the half in the ascendancy at St James' Park.

5.40Update: GOAL! Senegal 2-0 Uruguay (Konate): Senegal take a 2-0 lead against Uruguay as Konate scores his second after 37 minutes.

5.38Chance for Japan as Otsu fires from distance, but his strike is just deflected away for a corner - which is gathered by Amsif.

5.36Half-chance for Morocco as Labyad strikes an effort from distance, but Gonda pushes the ball to safety.

5.36The final ball is just lacking for Japan at the moment with Otsu straying offside on more than one occasion.

5.34Update: Senegal 1-0 Uruguay: Senegal are down to 10 men as Abdoulaye Ba is sent off.

5.34The Mexican wave is doing the rounds at the moment. That says a lot about the action on the pitch!

5.32Update: Senegal 1-0 Uruguay: Gaston Ramirez rattles the post for Uruguay after 30 minutes.

5.30Not a clever challenge from Driss Fettouhi as he jumps in on Takahiro Ohgihara. That could have been red you know.

5.28Just a slight opening for Morocco as Labyad finds Bidaoui, but once more the final ball is lacking.

5.26Hiroshi Kiyotake fires over the bar for Japan in just about their best chance of the half - which says a lot about their threat thus far.

5.24Update: Korea 0-0 Switzerland: Korea and Switzerland remain level with just about 10 minutes on the clock.

5.24Update: Senegal 1-0 Uruguay: Senegal lead 1-0 after 21 minutes of play.

5.22Chance! It's another fine chance for Morocco as Labyad searches out Amrabat in the box, but his cross is just too long.

5.20The match has just gone ever so bitty in the past five minutes or so with a number of late challenges breaking the play.

5.18Chance! Wonderful opportunity for Amrabat to put Morocco into the lead, but his close-range effort is blocked.

5.16Chance for Morocco as Houssine Kharja strikes from distance, but it was always moving wide of the post.

5.16Update: Korea vs. Switzerland is underway.

5.14Half-chance for Japan as Kensuke Nagai strikes from outside the box, but Amsif is on hand to collect the danger.

5.12Update: GOAL! Senegal 1-0 Uruguay (Konate): Senegal take the lead against Uruguay and it's Moussa Konate who finds the back of the net after 10 minutes.

5.10Still no real clear chances for either side thus far. Although Japan are just starting to put some crosses into the area.

5.08It's really nice feet from Hiroshi Kiyotake as he advances into the Moroccan area, however, his final ball is cleared by Mohamed Abarhoun.

5.06Just as I mention Amrabat he springs in behind the Japanese defence, but he was just crowded out at the vital moment. Better from Morocco.

5.04Noureddine Amrabat impressed for Morocco against Honduras on Thursday, and he is arguably his country's biggest threat. However, nothing from him thus far.

5.02Nice bright early start for Japan with Yuki Otsu a threat with his direct running.

5.00Here we go then. Japan get us underway. Meanwhile, Senegal vs. Uruguay is also underway.

5.00Just a reminder that Japan currently top Group D - and victory today would almost certainly see them advance. Meanwhile, Morocco would move top of the group should they win.

4.58We will be focusing our immediate attention on the match between Japan and Morocco. However, we will keep you up-to-date with ALL of the goals.

4.56South Korea get their match underway against Switzerland at 5.15pm.

4.54Japan take on Morocco at 5pm. Meanwhile, Senegal face Uruguay at the same time.

4.54Phew! What a match! Our report of the 90 minutes can be found here. Right, we have three games in quick succession coming up.

4.52Simply stunning from Brazil as they secure progression from Group C following a 3-1 win over Belarus. Neymar scored the pick of the goals in the second period, while Oscar added a brilliant third late on. However, Belarus' hopes of progression are still alive.

FULL-TIMEBrazil 3-1 Belarus

4.50Simply stunning goal from Brazil as Neymar finds Oscar - and the Chelsea man shapes it into the back of the net.

4.50GOAL! Brazil 3-1 Belarus (Oscar)

4.50Little over a minute remaining in this one as Brazil keep hold of possession. That looks to be just about it.

4.48Meanwhile, the team news for Japan vs. Morocco can be found here.

4.48We will play an additional three minutes at the end of the 90.

4.46We are just entering the final moments in this one - and it looks certain that Brazil will top Group C and book their spot in the next round.

4.46However, Oscar's free-kick is tipped over the bar by Gutor.

4.44Lovely feet from Lucas as he draws the foul from Kuzmenok. Another free-kick for Brazil outside the box.

4.44Another change for Brazil as Danilo replaces Hulk - who has simply run his socks off today.

4.42Meanwhile, the team news for Senegal vs. Uruguay can be found here.

4.42Change for Brazil as Lucas Moura replaces Pato.

4.40Just a game of keep-ball for Brazil at the moment as we enter the last five minutes at Old Trafford.

4.38Sighter for Belarus as Bardini Bressan is found by Baga, however, he cannot get a shot away.

4.38Meanwhile, our match report of Mexico 2-0 Gabon can be found here.

4.36Just sensational from Neymar as he dances through the entire Belarus defence, but he is just crowded out in the box. How good is this boy?

4.36Second change for Belarus as Egor Zubovich replaced Kornilenko.

4.34Attendance of 66,212 at Old Trafford this afternoon. Wonderful turnout for a brilliant game of football. 15 minutes remaining.

4.32Brilliant combination between Pato and Neymar, but the former's ball is just too long for the Santos striker.

4.30Brazil just keeping possession as the minutes fade away. Belarus have not had the ball for what seems like five hours.

4.28It's still Brazil on the attack with 20 minutes remaining. It's going to be a big ask for Belarus in the final moments of this one.

4.28I think the question on everyone's lips is where will Neymar go in 2014? Real Madrid? Barcelona? I hope it's Manchester United!

4.26Change for Belarus as Andrei Voronkov replaces Aleksievich.

4.26Chance for Brazil to make it three as Rafael finds Pato in the box, however, the danger is cleared by Dragun.

4.24Meanwhile, change for Brazil as Ganso replaces Sandro.

4.24How good was that from the superstar? Brazil will secure progression and win the group if they hang onto the three points this afternoon.

4.22Oh my word! What a strike from Neymar as he whips a free-kick into the top corner. Just sensational.

4.22GOAL! Brazil 2-1 Belarus (Neymar)

4.22FULL-TIME: Mexico 2-0 Gabon: Mexico move top of Group B with a 2-0 win over Gabon.

4.20Update: GOAL! Mexico 2-0 Gabon (Dos Santos): Dos Santos scores his second from the spot as Henri Ndong is sent off for a foul on Obribe Peralta in the area.

4.20... however, Hulk hits it straight into the wall. Really poor.

4.18Good shooting opportunity for Brazil as Baga fells Pato on the edge of the box....

4.18Chance! Best chance of the second period for Belarus as Bardini Bressan curls an effort from out wide, but Neto palms it over.

4.16Chance! Another wonderful piece of play from Oscar as he strikes from outside the box, but Gutor pushes it to safety once more.

4.14Again it breaks down for Brazil in an advanced position as Rafael plays it straight out of play. We are approaching the hour mark in this one.

4.14Update: Mexico 1-0 Gabon: Five minutes to play.

4.12Chance! So nearly for Brazil as Pato finds Oscar in the box, but Plitevich throws himself in the way. Brilliant defending.

4.12Beautiful feet from Neymar as he dances around the Belarus box, but his effort just curls away.

4.10Really decent save from the Belarus stopper there. It looked difficult to handle, a bit like a juicy melon, but he palmed it to safety.

4.08Wonderful shaped ball from Neymar as he searches out Rafael, the Manchester United man finds Marcelo, however, his shot is pushed over the bar.

4.06Again it's bright work as Marcelo finds Neymar, but the Santos man just cannot release an effort before Oscar fires over the bar.

4.04Immediate pressure for Brazil early in the half as Hulk advances into the box, but he is just crowded out.

4.02Here we go then. Belarus get us underway in the second period.

4.02Here come Brazil, late. It is good of them to join us!

4.02Update: Mexico 1-0 Gabon: Dos Santos has just missed a glorious chance to make it 2-0 to Mexico. 72 minutes played.

4.00The players are emerging onto the pitch for the start of the second period. Will Brazil's pressure pay off in this half?

3.58Just a reminder what Team GB get their match with UAE underway at 7.45pm. Meanwhile, Spain face Honduras at the same time.

3.56Meanwhile, our report of the opening 45 minutes of Brazil vs. Belarus can be found here.

3.54Update: GOAL! Mexico 1-0 Gabon: Mexico have taken the lead after 63 minutes and it's Giovani Dos Santos with the strike.

3.54However, both sides have had two shots on target - which is not really a fair reflection of the opening half.

3.52Let's take a look at some stats from the opening half of play. Brazil have dominated possession with 65% of the ball. Meanwhile, they have had seven shots to Belarus' three.

3.50Update: Mexico 0-0 Gabon: An hour played at the City of Coventry Stadium and the match remains level at 0-0.

3.48So there we have it. Group C rivals Brazil and Belarus enter the break at one goal apiece. It was Belarus who took an unexpected lead courtesy of Bardini Bressan, but Alexandre Pato headed an equaliser seven minutes later. Brazil have dominated possession, but it remains level.

HALF-TIMEBrazil 1-1 Belarus

3.46Neymar curls it over the bar just before the interval - and that's just about it for the opening half.

3.45Still Brazil dominate possession as the half approaches its latter stages. We will play one minute of added time.

3.43Again it's brilliant from Hulk as he once more drives into the box, but his cross is brilliantly defended. Still Belarus remain strong.

3.41Another chance for Brazil as Rafael whips a fine ball into the box, but again there are no takers. Five minutes until the break.

3.39Chance! Wonderful opportunity for Brazil as Hulk creates some room on the edge of the box, but his strike is over the bar.

3.39Again it's smart work from Hulk as he releases Rafael down the right, but the Manchester United defender's cross is blocked. But here they come again.

3.37Chance! So nearly for Belarus as Kornilenko moves past Juan in the Brazil box, but he is just crowded out at the vital moment.

3.35It's really smart work from Hulk as he dances into the Belarus box, but his cross is just too long for Pato. Brazil are dominating possession here.

3.33Update: Mexico 0-0 Gabon: Second period is underway.

3.33Neto just tips a Bressan Bardini cross over the bar. However, the corner comes to nothing.

3.32Free-kick for Belarus in an advanced position as Sergei Kornilenko is felled by Thiago Silva. Can they take advantage?

3.30This time Brazil attack down the left with Marcelo, however, Belarus have 10 men behind the ball at the present moment.

3.28Neymar is seeing much more of the ball for Brazil as the half advances. Meanwhile, Rafael remains an outlet down the right.

3.26Really is end-to-end stuff at the moment with both sides searching for the win that would secure their spot in the next round.

3.24Just a slight spell of pressure from Belarus as Dmitry Baga fires a dangerous cross into the box, but Rafael heads behind.

3.24Meanwhile, our very own Liam Apicella's half-time report of Mexico vs. Gabon can be found here.

3.22Dangerous delivery from Bardini Bressan, but Neto collects the ball under his crossbar. Meanwhile, Oscar tests the hands of Gutor at the other end.

3.20Brazil continue to flood forward with Rafael searching out Pato in the area, but Kuzmenok heads the danger clear.

3.20HALF-TIME: Mexico 0-0 Gabon: Nothing much to report in the opening half. However, Mexico have looked the more likely to open the scoring.

3.18Another chance for Brazil as Marcelo finds Romelu in the area, but his header is collected by Gutor.

3.17Chance for Belarus as Bardini Bressan strikes from distance, however, it whistles past the post.

3.15Fantastic start to this match from both sides. But you just get the feeling that Brazil will go from strength to strength.

3.14Brazil level the match and it's a wonderful ball from Neymar to Pato - and the striker thumps the header home.

3.14GOAL! Brazil 1-1 Belarus (Pato)

3.12Chance! So nearly 1-1 as Hulk meets a Marcelo cross, but he heads just wide.

3.12We have not seen a great deal from Oscar or Neymar thus far in the early stages.

3.10Penalty shout for Brazil as Hulk goes down under the challenge of Gutor, but the referee is not interested. It could have been given.

3.10In truth, it is what the game needed. Isn't that just football. Meanwhile, Marcelo fires over the bar.

3.08Belarus lead! And it's Renan Bardini Bressan who heads home at the far post. Incredible.

3.08GOAL! Brazil 0-1 Belarus (Bardini Bressan)

3.06Wonderful technique from Hulk as he shapes a pass behind Belarus, but again the danger is cleared. Nothing much for the reds thus far.

3.06Again it's Rafael down the right as he searches out Pato in the box, but it's a good header clear from Igor Kuzmenok.

3.04Update: Mexico 0-0 Gabon. 35 minutes played.

3.04Rafael, who is playing at his home ground, has seen plenty of the ball in the early stages. However, Belarus are nice and compact in midfield.

3.02First attack of the match as Rafael whips a dangerous cross into the box, however, Aleksandr Gutor collects the ball.

3.02Immediately Brazil take control of possession, as expected. Two minutes in, and no touch for Belarus thus far.

3.00Here we go then. Brazil get us underway at Old Trafford.

2.58We join Brazil and Belarus just as the national anthems are taking place. What an important fixture this is.

2.56Right, that's where we leave this one. However, we will keep you up-to-date with ALL the goals.

2.54The Mexican threat is coming from Aquino and Ponce at the moment, with the former causing concern with his direct running. It's Mexico who are playing the better football here.

2.52Couple of half-chances for Mexico as Darvin Chavez strikes from distance, but Ovono collects the danger.

2.50Oh what a chance for Mexico as Javier Aquino finds Ponce, but the midfielder's touch is ever so poor.

2.48Just a sighter for Gabon as Levy Madinda strikes from outside the box, however, it was too high to trouble Corona. Still 0-0 with 17 minutes on the clock.

2.46Chance for Mexico as Ponce stands over a free-kick outside the box, but his effort is over the bar when he might have done better.

2.44Chance for Gabon as Alexander Ndoumbou heads towards Meye, but it's good defending from Hiram Mier in the area.

2.42It's smart feet from Meye as he advances into the Mexico box, however, he fouls Hiram Mier.

2.42Just a final reminder that we will be switching our main focus onto Brazil and Belarus at 3pm.

2.40It's been a bright start to proceedings thus far with both sides carrying a threat.

2.38Doesn't look too clever for Salcido as he clashes with Meye, however, the former Fulham man looks ok to continue.

2.36Another glorious chance for Mexico as Marco Fabian strikes from distance, but Didier Ovondo pushes clear before Miguel Ponce heads wide.

2.34Chance for Mexico as Hector Herrera dances into the Gabon box, however, he fires just wide.

2.34Meanwhile, the full team news for Brazil and Belarus can be found here.

2.32Bright early combination between Axel Meye and Pierre Aubameyang for Gabon, but the former's header is collected by Jose Corona.

2.30Here we go then. Ben Williams from Australia is our referee this afternoon. Mexico get us underway.

2.27Now it's Gabon's turn. They are a very proud nation, that is for certain. And so they should be.

2.27National anthem time. The Mexicans looked quite chirpy, then the camera hit Carlos Salcido. He looks like someone has just taken his favourite toy.

2.25Here we go then. Both sets of players are emerging onto the pitch.

2.23Weather update: The sun is just threatening to appear. It wants to come out, it is just a little bit tentative at the moment.

2.21We will join the City of Coventry Stadium for the first half an hour of Mexico vs. Gabon - and the players will soon emerge onto the pitch.

14.19Surely they could make it fair on someone else? I mean, they have players on the bench that would walk into any other team in the tournament. Not fair!

2.17Back to the Brazil team news for a moment. Rafael, Thiago Silva, Oscar, Neymar and Hulk also start. That's not too bad is it?

2.15Full team news for Mexico vs. Gabon can be found here.

2.13Aside from the introduction of Pato, Brazil are unchanged. Full team news will follow.

2.11BREAKING: Alexandre Pato starts for Brazil in place of Leandro Damiao.

2.09Let's have a look at the current situation in Group B - as explained earlier. All four teams currently sit on a single point, and therefore victory for either Mexico or Gabon will place them in a strong position.

2.07But have no fear. We shall keep you up-to-date with the best action of both matches.

2.05We have Mexico and Gabon to come at 2.30pm. However, we will focus our attention on Brazil vs. Belarus at 3pm.

2.03Just a reminder that Brazil and Belarus will clash in the second match in Group C. The winner will book their spot in the latter stages of the tournament.

2.01The African outfit also had 10 shots on target to their opposition's two. Meanwhile, they dominated the corner count 10-2.

1.59Let's take a closer look at the statistics from that incredible opening encounter. It finished 1-1, but Egypt had 28 shots to New Zealand's four.

1.57BREAKING: No Giovani Dos Santos for Mexico as they face Gabon at 2.30pm. Full team news to follow.

1.55What does the result mean? New Zealand will have to beat Brazil in the final match to qualify. Meanwhile, Egypt will have to record victory over Belarus. Not a bad start ay!

1.52Oh my word. Just incredible entertainment. Egypt had enough chances to win 10 football games, but they just could not convert. A strike from Chris Wood in the first half sent New Zealand ahead, before Mohamed Salah levelled before the break. 28 shots for Egypt. One goal.

FULL-TIMEEgypt 1-1 New Zealand

1.52New Zealand emerge straight down the other end in a four vs. two situation, before Egypt counter straight back. Incredible!

1.5227 shots for Egypt. But we remain 1-1. Have you ever seen anything like it?

1.50Chance! OH MY WORD! Chance of the match for Meteab as he rounds the goalkeeper, but somehow he fires over in front of an open goal. Incredible.

1.48Will there be a winner in the final stages of this one? There are serious gaps emerging in both sides defence.

1.46Double change for Egypt as Shehab Ahmed and Mawan Mohsen replace Aboutrika and Gomaa. Meanwhile, New Zealand introduce Fenerdis in place of Thomas.

1.46Chance! Another glorious chance for Egypt as Meteab turns in the box, but O'Keeffe makes a fine save.

1.44Another chance for Egypt as Aboutrika finds Salah, but once more the chance is wasted. Just over five minutes remaining of normal time.

1.42Change for New Zealand as Rojas is replaced by Cameron Howieson.

1.42Chance! Wonderful opportunity for Fathi to win it for Egypt as he goes one-on-one with O'Keeffe. However, he is crowded out.

1.40End-to-end stuff in the final 10 minutes as both sides search for the elusive strike. Really good entertainment at OT.

1.40It's another New Zealand chance as Rojas searches out Wood in the box, but it is just too long.

1.38New Zealand have to go for it in the latter stages. If they draw, then they will have to beat Brazil.

1.36Chance! Opportunity for Michael McGlinchey to win it for New Zealand as he meets a Payne cross, however, his header is straight at the goalkeeper.

1.36What a chance for New Zealand to work an effort as Smeltz drives forward, but his final ball is poor.

1.34Another chance is wasted for Egypt as Fathi fires over the bar. He is playing more like a right winger then defender. 15 or so minutes to play here at Old Trafford.

1.32Excellent run from Rojas as he dances into the Egyptian box, however, he is just crowded out at the last moment. You just know that there is another goal to come in this one.

1.30Chance! New Zealand's second corner of the match so nearly brings their second goal as Nelsen meets the cross. Meanwhile, Aboutrika fires wide for Egypt on the break.

1.28Chance! Great feet inside the box from Fathi, however, his shot is wild. Big chance.

1.28Quick break for Egypt as Metebab and Gomaa Gomaa flood forward, however, they must settle for a corner.

1.26Just the one change as El Neny is replaced by Ahmed Magdy.

1.26Wood is just starting to have a say in this match as he fires over from distance. Meanwhile, Egypt look to be preparing a couple of changes.

1.24Chance for New Zealand to put a cross into the box as Ramadan fells Wood. However, the latter heads over the bar from the resulting free-kick.

1.22New Zealand are just starting to put a couple of passes together as the match approaches the 65 minute mark. However, Wood strays offside following a Barbarouses pass.

1.22Meanwhile, change for New Zealand as Ian Hogg replaces James Musa.

1.20Lovely approach work from Egypt as Aboutrika searches out Salah, however, O'Keeffe is quickly off his line once more.

1.18O'Keeffe keeps his side in the match once more as he denies Salah before tipping a Fathi strike over the bar. It's 11 vs. 1 at the moment.

1.16Nice build-up play once more between Salah and Fathi, but the former fires over the bar. There are just bodies of red flowing forward, usual sight at Old Trafford ay?

1.14I have counted two passes for New Zealand in this second period before they lose the ball. Meanwhile, Saleh Gomaa tests the palms of O'Keefe once more.

1.12Again it's really nice work from Egypt as Fathi and Salah combine, but Nelsen just clears the danger. Fathi is having an absolute party down the right.

1.12Oh my word. Bit of a horror show from Fathi as he over-cooks a cross in an advanced area. New Zealand just cannot keep the ball, however, and Egypt come again.

1.10Egypt has 88% possession thus far in the second period. That tells its own story - and says more than I ever could. However, it remains 1-1.

1.08Chance! So nearly 2-1 to Egypt as Meteab heads towards goal, but O'Keeffe pushes the ball over.

1.06Another chance for Aboutrika as he meets a cross in the area, however, O'Keeffe collects before starting a New Zealand attack.

1.04The second has begun the same way the first ended - with Egypt in total control of the match. New Zealand need to make or change, or they will lose this match.

1.03Here we go then. New Zealand get us underway in the second period.

12.46So there we have it. Somehow Egypt remain tied at 1-1 with New Zealand after 45 minutes of Olympic Group C football. In truth, the African outfit have dominated the match since the onset, but they fell behind when Chris Wood tapped home from close range. The pressure continued throughout the opening half, and they got back on level terms when Mohamed Salah finished off a sweeping Egyptian move.

HALF-TIMEEgypt 1-1 New Zealand

12.44The shot count is currently 12-1 in Egypt's favour. Meanwhile, El Neny fires an effort wide from outside the box.

12.42All Egypt in the latter stages of the half. It should be 2-1, but Emad Meteab just heads a Ramadan cross wide of the target.

12.40Egypt are level! It's a fine ball from Aboutrika, and Salah is on hand to slot past the goalkeeper. Game on!

12.40GOAL! Egypt 1-1 New Zealand (Salah)

12.38Penalty shout for Egypt as Barbarouses brings Aboutrika down in box, but referee is not interested and he waves play on.

12.36It's another chance for Egypt, but Mohamed Salah fires an effort wide. It's just all Egypt at the moment.

12.34Still the chances fall for Egypt and only a fine O'Keeffe save denies Saley Gomaa from levelling the match.

12.32It's a rare attack for New Zealand as Tim Payne finds Wood, but it's just too long for the striker and it drifts out of play.

12.30I'm not too sure what Ahmed Fathi had for breakfast. However, one thing is for certain, he had his roast dinner last night. It's a fine cross from the defender, but Meteab's overhead kick just drifts over.

12.28It's another wonderful opportunity for Egypt as Mohamed Salah meets an El Neny pass, but again his strike is wide of the target. Surely the leveller is coming?

12.26Still the chances fall for Egypt, and Mohamed El Neny just misses the target after dancing into the New Zealand box.

12.24Will Egypt be made to rue the missed chances? The good thing for the Africans is that the goal came early, and I am backing them to recover.

12.22Egypt continue to flood forward, however, New Zealand have just begun to grow into this match after a difficult opening to proceedings.

12.20Suddenly it's all New Zealand following the goal, oh how quickly football can change. However, Fathi strikes from distance for Egypt with their threat still very real.

12.18Isn't that just football? It's been all Egypt but Wood pops up in the box to convert from close range.

12.18GOAL! Egypt 0-1 New Zealand (Wood)

12.18Better from New Zealand as Adam Thomas searches out Wood in the box, but Ahmed Hegazi clears the danger.

12.18Tim Payne is having a bit of a horror show in the New Zealand midfield as he wastes possession once more. It was what I like to call a 'finding nemo' pass. Ever so hopeful, but it just took so long to reach its desired target.

12.16Again Egypt flood forward as Aboutrika picks it up in the box, but he fires horribly wide. The goal is coming for the African outfit.

12.14It's just all Egypt at the moment with New Zealand just unable to keep the ball. Aboutrika could have a major say in this one.

12.12Bright goalkeeping from Michael O'Keeffe as he comes to the feet of Emad Meteab to collect. Meanwhile, Mohamed Aboutrika is just crowded out in the area.

12.10It's wonderful work from Salah Gomaa as he collects a pass before searching out Mohamed Salah in the box, but the danger is cleared. Ever to sluggish from the Kiwis thus far.

12.08Nothing from New Zealand as an attacking force thus far. They certainly need to get Shane Smeltz and Chris Wood into the match.

12.06There's a nice balance to the Egypt team in the early stages - with Mohamed El Neny and Ahmed Fathi causing problems to the opposition back-line.

12.04New Zealand just have not seen the ball in the opening stages thus far. Sighter for Egypt as Eslam Ramadan searches out Mohamed Salah Ghaly, but it was just too long.

12.02Bright start from Egypt with Ahmed Fathi Ibrahim striking from distance, however, Nelsen made the block.

12.00Here we go then. The referee today is our very own Mark Clattenburg. New Zealand get us underway.

11.59Egypt have made one change to the side for this afternoon's match. Meanwhile, New Zealand are unchanged.

11.58It's national anthem time. Egypt were first, while Ryan Nelsen now leads the singing for New Zealand.

11.58Egypt are competing in their first Olympic Games in 20 years this summer. Meanwhile, the Kiwis are competing for the second straight time.

11.56Here we go then. The referee leads out the two sides onto the pitch.

11.54Looking ahead to the opening match between Egypt and New Zealand. The only way the loser can be eliminated is if Brazil draw with Belarus in the 3pm kickoff.

11.52The surprise package of the opening day were certainly Japan with their vibrant willingness to work. They could also go a long way in the competition providing that they stick to their values.

11.50Spain and Brazil are still my two favourites for the competition. Meanwhile, the third favourite, Uruguay also didn't have the best opening to the competition. Granted, they secured the three points, but they just didn't get their star men - Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani - into the match.

11.48Meanwhile, Brazil looked ever so comfortable when 3-0 ahead against Egypt, but they conceded twice in the second period to hand their opponents a sniff. However, that's what good teams do, they find a way to win.

11.45So what did we learn from the opening day then? I don't think that too much should be read into the Spain result, and I expect them to make a host of changes for today's match. The Athletic Bilbao pair of Ander Herrera and Iker Muniain should both come in. Meanwhile, their shaky defence will almost certainly be reshuffled.

11.42Now to Group D, and many would have expected that Spain would currently be sitting top of the pile, but that isn't the case. Japan's opening-day win over the world and European champions has left them top. Meanwhile, Honduras and Morocco shared the points in a 2-2 draw on Thursday. Japan will secure qualification should they win this afternoon, while Spain will be eliminated if they lose and Japan secure all three points.

11.39Group C is slightly more straightforward. Brazil top the group following their 3-2 victory over Egypt. Meanwhile, Belarus recorded a 1-0 win over New Zealand. If Brazil secure the three points this afternoon then they will qualify. Meanwhile, a win for Belarus would also see them book their spot in the next round.

11.37Let's take a look at Group B. All four teams currently sit on one point following the opening day draws between Gabon and Switzerland, and Korea and Mexico. Therefore it is anyone's guess who the favourites are to progress.

11.35Starting with Group A. Uruguay currently sit top of the pile following their win over UAE - and a win over Senegal would see them qualify for the latter stages. Team GB, who face UAE, currently sit second. Stuart Pearce's side would need to beat Uruguay on the final matchday if they lose today and Senegal win. My main tip for Team GB? Win.

11.32Got it? Good! Now let's take a little look at the standings so far and who is in trouble - Spain certainly are!

11.30BREAKING: Team news for Egypt vs. New Zealand can be found here.

11.30The evening's play will be completed when Spain, who lost to Japan on the opening day, face the impressive Honduras at 7.45pm.

11.28South Korea and Switzerland will clash in Group B at 5.15pm, before Team GB play their second match against UAE at 7.45pm.

11.26Group D pits Japan against Morocco at 5pm. Meanwhile, Senegal and Uruguay clash in Group A at the same time.

11.24Mexico and Gabon will get their match underway at 2.30pm in Group B. Meanwhile, Brazil face Belarus in Group C at 3pm.

11.22Hello all! As mentioned above, the opening match of day two will begin at 12pm with Egypt and New Zealand clashing in Group C.
