Liverpool 'denied good behaviour clause in Mario Balotelli transfer'

Liverpool's rumoured move for Mario Balotelli allegedly collapsed after AC Milan refused to sanction a good behaviour clause in his contract.

Liverpool's rumoured bid to sign AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli is said to have collapsed after the Reds were denied a good behaviour clause in his contract.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers wanted the right to send the Italy international back to his parent club if he acted up, but the Rossoneri rejected the terms, according to the Daily Star.

Balotelli was infamous for his off-the-field antics during his time at Manchester City, once making the headlines for letting off fireworks inside his rented home and frequently falling out with then-manager Roberto Mancini.

Neither Liverpool nor Milan have officially confirmed that an approach for the player was made, with the Italian club's vice president Adriano Galliani denying an offer was tabled.

Rodgers is believed to be keen to sign a new striker before the transfer window closes following the sale of last season's top goalscorer Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
