How Liverpool could line up against Burnley

Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Burnley at Anfield.

Three wins from four games is all Liverpool need to set a new Premier League points record as they prepare to welcome Burnley to Anfield on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's side moved past the 90-point mark and to 30 wins for the season courtesy of their 3-1 triumph over Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday, leaving them needing nine points from the last 12 on offer to surpass Manchester City's centurions.

Liverpool are also chasing the first ever perfect home season of 19 wins from 19, with Burnley bidding to become the first visiting team since January 2019 to take any points from a league match at Anfield.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the Reds could line up for the contest.

Possible LIV XI vs. BUR

Out: Jordan Henderson (knee), Joel Matip (toe)
Doubtful: Dejan Lovren (knock)

Liverpool will be without captain Jordan Henderson for this match and the remainder of the season after he limped off against Brighton with a knee injury.

Considering that Roberto Firmino was left out of the starting XI for the Aston Villa game and Sadio Mane missed out against Brighton, Klopp may be considering resting Mohamed Salah this time around.

However, the Egyptian's performance against the Seagulls suggested that he is desperate to win another Golden Boot and so he will be eager to start again following his brace and assist at the Amex.

Salah's haul took him up to 100 goal involvements in just 104 Premier League games for Liverpool - by far the quickest to hit that milestone for the club and only the fourth ever after Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen.

Naby Keita impressed at the Amex and so will be hopeful of keeping his place, but depending on Klopp's level of rotation Georginio Wijnaldum could make way with Fabinho and James Milner pushing for starts.

Andrew Robertson is also expected to return to the starting lineup, while opportunities for rotation elsewhere at the back are limited with Dejan Lovren still doubtful and Joel Matip sidelined for the remainder of the season.
