The 30-year-old, currently on loan at Lille, still has two years left on a £130,000-a-week contract at Liverpool.
However, the Daily Mail reports that the Reds will let him go for as little as £5m.
Lille are also said to be interested in tying him to a permanent deal but have been deterred by his huge salary.
