Top 10 Liverpool strikers of the Premier League era - #2

Sports Mole's countdown of the top 10 greatest Liverpool strikers from the Premier League era continues with number two - Luis Suarez.

Luis Suarez only needed three-and-a-half years on Merseyside to showcase the best and worst aspects of his game, and it speaks volumes for the impact he had that he is regarded as one of the club's greatest strikers from such a short stay.

The Uruguayan's 2013-14 campaign is arguably the greatest individual season in Premier League history, with Suarez scoring 31 goals in just 33 top-flight outings to take Liverpool to the brink of the title.

It could have been so different had Suarez not heeded the words of captain Steven Gerrard - who warned him off joining Arsenal in 2013 - and his form in the near-miss title season earned him a £75m move to Barcelona.

Suarez arrived in the same January window that saw Fernando Torres leave Liverpool, and he quickly dispelled fears that the Reds would not be able to replace their star striker - much like Kenny Dalglish did after Kevin Keegan's exit in 1977.

Still plying his trade for Barcelona at the time of writing, Suarez retains a soft spot for Liverpool and ended his Anfield career having scored 69 goals in 110 Premier League appearances.
