Championship week 34 predictions including Bristol City vs. West Bromwich Albion

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all 12 of this weekend's Championship fixtures, including Bristol City vs. West Bromwich Albion.

Derby vs. Fulham (Friday, 7.45pm)

Fulham manager Scott Parker on February 15, 2020© Reuters

Fulham travel to Pride Park to face Derby County on Friday night looking to move level on points with second-placed Leeds United.

Meanwhile, the Rams play host to the Championship promotion contenders sitting in 13th position, nine points adrift of the playoffs.

We say: Derby County 1-1 Fulham

With both teams having failed to win any of the last two games, we feel that this will be a closely-fought contest. Although each side contains proven goalscorers, this could turn out to be a low-scoring draw.

Brentford vs. Blackburn (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Brentford head into their Championship fixture with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon sitting in fourth position in the standings.

However, should they lose at Griffin Park this weekend, the Bees will hold just a two-point advantage over an improving Rovers outfit.

We say: Brentford 2-1 Blackburn Rovers

We expect this contest to be tighter than many are predicting, partly due to Blackburn relishing their tag as promotion underdogs. However, Brentford's extra quality in the final third could ultimately prove to be the difference in the closing stages.

Barnsley vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3pm)

Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate on January 21, 2020© Reuters

Barnsley play host to Middlesbrough in the Championship on Saturday afternoon knowing that victory will haul their opponents back into a relegation scrap.

However, the visitors are aware that avoiding defeat at Oakwell will ensure that they at least maintain their nine-point advantage over the bottom-placed side.

We say: Barnsley 1-1 Middlesbrough

Barnsley need the win more so than Middlesbrough, and that could see the home side throw caution to the wind. However, they still need to find the right balance, and Boro may capitalise should they be able to frustrate their hosts.

Birmingham vs. Sheffield Wednesday (Saturday, 3pm)

Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday find themselves level on points in the Championship table ahead of this encounter, as Pep Clotet and Garry Monk meet on the touchline once again.

Wednesday's poor form of late has seen the Owls lose ground on the playoff places and drop into mid-table, meeting a Birmingham side who have turned things around after a difficult start and are now well-clear of the relegation zone.

We say: Birmingham City 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Birmingham are in fine form, whereas Wednesday are struggling. Given Clotet's side have home advantage and Monk's men have scored just once in their last four, the Blues could win this one fairly comfortably and keep a clean sheet in the process.

Bristol City vs. West Brom (Saturday, 3pm)

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic on February 15, 2020© Reuters

Both Bristol City and West Bromwich Albion will be looking to return to winning ways in the Championship when the two teams lock horns on Saturday afternoon.

West Brom are still top of the table despite being held by Nottingham Forest last weekend, while Bristol City suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Leeds United in their last fixture.

We say: Bristol City 1-2 West Brom

Bristol City's run of five wins in their last seven Championship matches deserves a lot of respect, but West Brom have proved to be the best team in the league thus far this season. We are expecting a very close match at Ashton Gate with the Baggies just having enough to pick up all three points.

Charlton vs. Luton (Saturday, 3pm)

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer on February 8, 2020© Reuters

Relegation-threatened duo Charlton Athletic and Luton Town meet at The Valley on Saturday as both sides battle for Championship survival.

Both sides have started to turn their dire form around and will see this fixture as a prime opportunity to pick up points and steer clear of the drop.

We say: Charlton Athletic 0-1 Luton Town

Luton have won their last two games by a 1-0 scoreline and could do the same again against a patchy Charlton side to make it three on the bounce and close the gap between the pair.

Leeds vs. Reading (Saturday, 3pm)

Leeds United will be looking to make it back-to-back Championship victories when they welcome Reading to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites, who remain second in the table, picked up three much-needed points against Bristol City last weekend, while Reading impressively won 3-0 at Sheffield Wednesday in their last match.

We say: Leeds 2-0 Reading

Reading have a number of injury problems heading into the match, but Leeds are in fairly good shape at the moment. The Whites have been much better in their last two fixtures after a tough period, and we expect them to pick up another three important points on Saturday afternoon.

Nottm Forest vs. QPR (Saturday, 3pm)

Tyler Walker celebrates scoring for Forest on February 8, 2020© Reuters

Promotion-chasing Nottingham Forest host Queens Park Rangers as they look to keep the pressure on the Championship's top two and maintain their playoff spot for another week.

Forest entertain a QPR side 11 points clear of both the relegation zone and the top six as they head for a comfortable, mid-table finish this season.

We say: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Queens Park Rangers

With neither side in flying form this could be a close encounter, with a solid defence tested by one of the league's most potent attacks. However, the promotion-chasing side should just get the job done at home.

Preston vs. Hull (Saturday, 3pm)

Preston manager Alex Neil on February 1, 2020© Reuters

Preston North End will be looking to consolidate their spot in the playoff positions in the Championship table when they welcome Hull City to Deepdale on Saturday afternoon.

Alex Neil's side are currently sixth in the Championship table with 53 points, while an out-of-form Hull occupy 17th position, 10 points clear of the relegation zone with 13 games left.

We say: Preston 2-1 Hull

Hull's injury problems are starting to ease at a key stage of the season, but it is a big ask to expect the Tigers to upset Preston at Deepdale. We are expecting a tight match in terms of the scoreline but fancy the home side to pick up three important points.

Stoke vs. Cardiff (Saturday, 3pm)

Stoke City boss Michael O'Neill on February 15, 2020© Reuters

Stoke City welcome Cardiff City to the bet365 Stadium on Saturday in a crucial meeting at both ends of the Championship table.

The Potters have seen early strong form under Michael O'Neill abandon them in recent weeks, while Cardiff have moved to within three points of the playoff places.

We say: Stoke City 2-1 Cardiff City

Stoke have seen their form dip in recent weeks, but they remain a force at the bet365 Stadium under O'Neill. Cardiff have been in good form of late, but Stoke could sneak a valuable win in their fight against relegation.

Swansea vs. Huddersfield (Saturday, 3pm)

Swansea City's players look dejected after conceding a fourth goal in their 4-4 draw with Hull City on February 14, 2020© Reuters

Swansea City face Huddersfield Town at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday in a battle between two sides struggling for results in the Championship.

Swansea have take three points from their last five league matches, while the Terriers are only five points clear of the relegation places.

We say: Swansea 1-2 Huddersfield

Both sides have been struggling for form of late, but Huddersfield seem to be on an upward curve with performances improving. A late comeback for a point last time out will have boosted confidence, so expect them to just edge this one.

Wigan vs. Millwall (Saturday, 3pm)

Wigan boss Paul Cook on February 1, 2020© Reuters

Wigan Athletic take on Millwall at the DW Stadium on Saturday in a crucial match for a Latics side still in the Championship relegation zone.

Millwall, on the other hand, still have a chance of making the playoffs, with Gary Rowett's team four points adrift of the top six.

We say: Wigan 1-2 Millwall

With Millwall still very much in the playoff hunt, expect them to overcome a relegation-threatened Wigan side. Wigan have struggled for home wins all season and that run should continue on Saturday.
