Juventus are reportedly targeting Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli, who previously worked with manager Massimiliano Allegri at AC Milan.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has reportedly targeted Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli as his first signing after his return to the helm at the Italian giants.

Allegri is looking to overhaul the Juve squad after they suffered a difficult season under Andrea Pirlo, and the returning boss knows Locatelli from their time at AC Milan.

Prior to departing Milan for Juve in 2014, Allegri gave Locatelli his chance to train with the first team when he was only a 16-year-old, and the Italian international went on to make 63 appearances for AC Milan.

The Daily Mail reports that Locatelli is on Allegri's transfer target list as he looks to bolster his midfield, amid doubt over the future of Aaron Ramsey.

The 23-year-old has been named in Roberto Mancini's provisional 28-man Italian squad for Euro 2020 and therefore any deal surrounding his club future may have to be delayed due to his involvement with the national team.

Locatelli is one appearance shy of a century for Sassuolo having initially arrived at the club on loan in 2018.
