Half-Time Report: Early goal gives Derby County the half-time lead

Patrick Bamford's goal after just 37 seconds gives Derby County the half-time lead against Ipswich Town.

Derby County have taken a 1-0 lead in at half time against Ipswich Town at Portman Road this evening.

Patrick Bamford opened the scoring after just 37 seconds when he turned home Craig Bryson's low cross with his left foot.

The same combination nearly opened up Ipswich again on 26 minutes, but Bamford's effort was saved by Dean Gerken, before Chris Martin's well-struck effort was blocked two minutes later.

The visitors have been largely in control throughout the half and Johnny Russell saw a shot blocked after good work from Jeff Hendrick in the build-up.

Craig Forsyth delivered a dangerous cross towards the end of the half, but the ball evaded everyone including the goalkeeper before eventually going behind for a goal kick.
