How Germany could line up against France

Ahead of Tuesday's UEFA Nations League clash between France and Germany, Sports Mole looks at how Germany could line up in Paris.

Germany head into Tuesday's UEFA Nations League encounter against France knowing that a victory is required to maintain any hope of topping the Group A1 table.

Joachim Low's side have so far failed to recover from their early exit at this summer's World Cup, with no goals and one point coming from their opening two fixtures in this competition.

The 2014 world champions were soundly beaten by the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Saturday night, and it was a result which has further heaped the pressure on Low and his squad.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Germany could line up in Paris.

Possible GER XI vs. FRA

Out: Jerome Boateng (calf)

Low suggested that he had been left disappointed with both Leroy Sane and Julian Brandt missing chances in front of goal after being introduced from the bench against the Netherlands, but the duo could be drafted into the first XI.

Timo Werner may retain his place in the team, but Mark Uth could drop down to the substitutes' bench with Werner being used down the middle.

Thilo Kehrer - who moved to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer - and Sebastian Rudy are options to come into the defence and midfield respectively with Low unlikely to be able to justify keeping the same seven players in those areas of the pitch.

Jerome Boateng has been ruled out of the game with a calf problem, with Niclas Sule potentially being included as his replacement.
