David Moyes is reportedly waiting in the wings to become Everton's next permanent manager as pressure builds on Marco Silva.

David Moyes has reportedly made himself available to become Everton's next permanent manager as pressure builds on Marco Silva.

Silva is under a looming threat of losing his job following a 5-2 defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday that leaves Everton languishing in the bottom three.

Reports claim that Moyes, who was in charge at Goodison Park between March 2002 to May 2013, is favourite to assume the position.

According to the Daily Mail, Moyes is ready to take the reins at Everton as the club picks an opportune moment to sack Silva.

While there was some conflict between Everton's ownership over whether to appoint Moyes or Mark Hughes, the club has decided on the former due to his history with the Toffees.

Since leaving Everton, Moyes has had unsuccessful spells at Manchester United, Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham United.
