Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says that his players must begin to find a ruthless streak in front of goal after being held to a 1-1 draw by Huddersfield Town.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has acknowledged that his team were 'not clinical' in front of goal during Wednesday night's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town.

The Blues had been looking to go level on points with Liverpool in the race for a Champions League spot, but a resilient performance from the Terriers denied Conte's side at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea only scored through a fortuitous Marcos Alonso goal and just five shots on target were registered from 22 attempts, leaving Conte to call for his players to show more of a ruthless streak in their remaining fixtures.

The 48-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "We had so many chances and you must be good to take them. It is not the first time that we are not clinical, there are many circumstances for this. We must accept the final result and the commitment was impressive of the players. We tried to win the game until the end. We were a bit unlucky in many situations.

"As you know very well, you have to score one goal more than your opponent to get the points and a lot of times this season we have made chances but not taken them. It is not a situation only for the strikers but the whole team. We must try to improve for the future."

To earn a top-four place in the standings, Chelsea must now defeat Newcastle United at the weekend and hope that Brighton & Hove Albion surprise Liverpool at Anfield.
