Live Commentary: Bayern Munich 2-2 Chelsea (Bayern win 5-4 on penalties) - as it happened

Sports Mole brings you live commentary of the European Super Cup at the Eden Arena in Prague as Bayern Munich claim the trophy on penalties following a 2-2 draw between the two European rivals.

The European Super Cup was contested between the Champions League winners Bayern Munich and the Europa League winners Chelsea at the Eden Arena in Prague on Friday.

Bayern had the majority of the ball in the first period, but a strike from Fernando Torres after eight minutes ensured that the Premier League outfit entered the break ahead.

Bayern were level in the early stages of the second half courtesy of a strike from Franck Ribery, but that was how it ended as the match entered extra time.

Chelsea struck first through Eden Hazard, but Javi Martinez equalised in the final minute to send the match to a penalty shootout.

Xherdan Shaqiri's penalty sent Bayern into a 5-4 lead, before Romelu Lukaku's miss meant that the German outfit secured the trophy.

Read how it all unfolded in Sports Mole's minute-by-minute live commentary of the action below.

6.31pmEvening all! Well, this trophy would not have been on either side's list of priorities at the beginning of the season, but there is no question that this match has a bit of added spice with Bayern manager Pep Guardiola and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho facing off once more. To suggest that there has never been any love lost between the pair would be putting it kindly.

6.34pmThere is underlying respect between the two men, but that is as far as it goes. The duo went head-to-head for the La Liga title during Mourinho’s first two seasons at Real Madrid before Guardiola stepped down as Barcelona boss for his sabbatical. Both are now in new positions, but the rivalry still very much exists between two of the finest managers in the modern game.

6.37pmOf course, this match will provide a rerun of the 2012 Champions League final in Munich. Bayern entered the match as the overwhelming favourites, but Chelsea arrived in the final having seen off Barcelona in the previous round. The Allianz Arena expected another European crown for the home side, but Chelsea had certainly not read the script.

6.40pmIt took a while for Bayern to break the Chelsea rear-guard – 83 minutes in fact – but it had appeared that the Germans would ease to the crown. Didier Drogba had other ideas, however, as the Blues forward thumped a powerful header into the back of the net two minutes from time. It was also the Ivorian that had the last word, with his penalty winning the shootout for the Premier League club.

6.43pmBREAKING TEAM NEWS: Some big news coming out of the Bayern camp ahead of kickoff with skipper Phillip Lahm seemingly being selected in a midfield role this evening. Rafinha comes into the team at right-back, while there are also starts for Arjen Robben and Toni Kroos. Bastian Schweinsteiger, as expected, is absent. We are still awaiting confirmation of the Chelsea XI.

BAYERN: Neuer; Rafinha, Dante, Boateng, Alaba; Kroos, Lahm, Muller; Robben, Mandzukic, Ribery

CHELSEA: To follow.

6.49pmBayern might have recovered from the Chelsea defeat in 2012 with the Champions League title last season, but there is no question that revenge will be on their minds. Quite how Bayern managed to lose that match despite dominating for the entirety remains a mystery, but they certainly feel that they should be in a position to make it three European titles in a row this season, rather than two.

6.52pmAs mentioned, Bayern qualified for this competition after winning the Champions League last season. Sometimes teams ease their way into the final, but the German outfit demolished favourites Barcelona on their way to claiming the title. Dortmund provided a strong test, but an Arjen Robben strike one minute from time ensured that they picked up the trophy.

6.55pmChelsea, meanwhile, were triumphant in the Europa League with a 2-1 win over Portuguese side Benfica in Amsterdam. They too left it late to claim the trophy with Branislav Ivanovic winning it in the third minute of stoppage time. While it was a welcome trophy, the Blues will hope that they can progress into the latter stages of the Champions League this time around.

6.58pmBREAKING TEAM NEWS: Big call from Mourinho this evening as the Portuguese selects Fernando Torres in attack. The Spaniard has been out of favour thus far this season, but he does indeed start through the middle. David Luiz also returns to the back four, but there is no place in the starting XI for Juan Mata. Full team news to follow.

BAYERN: Neuer; Rafinha, Dante, Boateng, Alaba; Kroos, Lahm, Muller; Robben, Mandzukic, Ribery

CHELSEA: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Cole; Ramires, Lampard; Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard; Torres

7.04pmWhat must Romelu Lukaku be thinking? He had a fine campaign with West Bromwich Albion last season, but he cannot buy a start under Mourinho. John Terry also drops out of the Chelsea side this evening. Michael Essien is also among the subs for the English outfit, but Frank Lampard and Ramires continue in the middle of the midfield. There is no sign of Demba Ba, however, who looks certain to leave Stamford Bridge before the transfer deadline.

7.08pmChelsea were also present in this competition last season, but as the winners of the Champions League. They came up against Europa League winners Atletico Madrid in the final, but they came up well short as Radamel Falcao scored three times in a 4-1 win for the Spanish outfit. This trophy is not a priority, but it is a chance for a team to put a marker down for the rest of the season.

7.11pmBayern have never won the European Super Cup, but Chelsea have won it once - in 1998. AC Milan hold the most titles (five). Barcelona have also won it four times, while Liverpool and Dutch outfit Ajax have won it three times apiece. Perhaps the most obscure team to have won it is Belgian side Mechelen, who were triumphant in 1988. How’s that for a quiz question?

7.14pmTo suggest that Bayern were the best team in Europe last season would be the biggest understatement of the century. Sometimes teams can ease their way into the latter stages of the competition and perhaps get a few lucky breaks here and there. Well, that was not the case for the Bundesliga side who demolished all in their path last season. They were the best team in Europe by a considerable distance.

7.18pmThat was, however, under the stewardship of Jupp Heynckes, who bowed out at the end of the season after winning the Bundesliga, the Champions League and the DFB-Pokal. They simply stormed to their domestic championship last season, winning 29 times and losing just once, eventually finishing an incredible 25 points ahead of Dortmund, who were the second-best side in Europe last season.

7.21pmThere has been a few changes at the club this summer with the likes of Mario Gomez allowed to leave and Thiago and Mario Gotze among those that were added to the squad. They have made an encouraging start to the season with four wins from five in all competitions, but it would be fair to say that they are in a slight transitional period under Guardiola.

7.24pmChelsea, meanwhile, have also been active in the transfer market this summer with the likes of Willian, Marco van Ginkel, Andre Schurrle and latterly Samuel Eto’o arriving. Mourinho, who is in his second spell with the club, had been openly pursuing Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney, but it appears that move is dead in the water.

7.28pmThey too have made an encouraging start to the season with two wins and a draw from their first three league games, latterly a 0-0 draw with Manchester United on Monday. It is clear that Mourinho is not too happy with his striking options, however, with Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku seemingly not in his first-team plans. Although the former starts this evening.

7.31pmThere also remains the strange situation surrounding Juan Mata. The Spaniard scored 20 goals and contributed 35 assists in 60 appearances last season, but it does not appear that he is part of Mourinho’s plans, which is quite extraordinary. A number of clubs are believed to have made subtle enquiries, but thus far Chelsea have repelled the interest with the transfer deadline coming to a close.

7.34pmOverall, Mourinho has won just three of his 15 meetings against Guardiola as a manager. That really is an incredible statistic. When asked about that record in a pre-match press conference on Thursday, the Portuguese responded: “Your statistics are wrong - very wrong, very wrong. But I don't want to discuss that because it's not important. I'll just say it's wrong. Go there and see what happened with Inter in the Champions League semi-final. The league records in Spain, the Copa del Rey in Spain, the Super Cup in Spain. You are very, very wrong. You are wrong but it's not important. It's not me against him, it's club against club. That's not important."

7.37pmHowever, Mourinho quickly followed with: "Maybe you are right and I am wrong but I don't care. This is not about us, it's about Chelsea and Bayern." It must be said that the atmosphere is just sensational inside the stadium. Try telling these supporters that this trophy is not a priority. Both sides desperately want to win this match make no mistake about that.

7.40pmHere we go then. Both sets of players join us on the pitch ahead of kickoff. Following the completion of the pre-match handshakes and the exchanging of flags, we will be ready to get the action underway. Just a quick reminder of the main team news - Lahm starts in midfield for Bayern, while Boateng and Mandzukic also start. Chelsea, meanwhile, select Torres as the lone striker.

7.43pmPREDICTION: We are just about two minutes from kickoff, which can mean only one thing, time for my prediction. I shouldn't think that there will be too many goals between the two sides this evening, but I do expect Bayern to come out on top, just. I am backing a 2-1 win for the Champions League winners.

0 minQuite a picture in the couple of minutes leading up to kickoff with plenty of colour on display in the stadium. Meanwhile, a number of women were parading about with skirts full of balloons. All a bit off fun! Anyway, now we are ready for some football two minutes later than expected. Bayern get the action underway on this mild evening in Prague.

2 minIt is understood that Guardiola and Mourinho had a handshake in the tunnel prior to kickoff this evening, which is good to hear. Bayern have taken control of the possession in the opening couple of moments with the likes of Kroos and Lahm seeing plenty of the ball. Chelsea immediately retreat into their defensive shape.

4 minFirst half-chance of the match comes to Bayern as Boateng's cross finds the head of Mandzukic, but his effort is just wide of the target. Not too much from the English outfit have thus far with Bayern dominating possession of the ball. You sense that Chelsea will need to be patient in the early stages in Prague.

6 minHandbags between Luiz and Mandzukic as the Brazilian defender appears to hold onto the striker after the ball had been played. The Bayern forward is little bit lucky there as it appeared to swing an elbow towards Luiz. Ribery has possession down the right moments later, but he loses control at the vital moment. Still goalless with six minutes on the clock in this Super Cup encounter.

8 minFirst effort of the match for Chelsea comes from Eden Hazard as the Belgian strikes one from outside the box, but it was always drifting wide of the target. Ribery has a half-chance down the other end as he attempts to find the bottom corner from inside the box, but he drags it wide of the target. End-to-end football in the last couple of moments.

8 minGOAL! Bayern 0-1 Chelsea (Torres)

9 minOh my word, what a goal. It's brilliant work from Hazard as the Belgian drives into the Bayern half before finding Schurrle, the German in turn finds Torres, who curls a wonderful effort into the top corner. That is some strike from the Spaniard. Who saw that coming?

11 minGood response from Bayern as the German advance immediately down the other end with Ribery, but his cross is met by a blue shirt. Lahm has a volley from close range moments later, but it was straight into the arms of Cech. All the signs are that we will have an entertaining match this evening. It has been some 11 minutes.

13 minReal opportunity for Bayern to get themselves back into the match as Mandzukic finds Muller with a lovely touch, but the German just loses control at the vital moment. It has been all one-way traffic since the goal with Bayern penning the Europa League winners into their own half. I would be astounded if Bayern did not create a couple of openings in the next few moments.

15 minBayern have only failed to score once in their last 66 matches, but that was against London opposition in the shape of Arsenal in last season's Champions League. Good pressure for Chelsea in the last couple of moments with Schurrle causing problems down the right, but Alaba is across to make the clearance. Incredibly open match with 15 minutes on the clock.

18 minGood pressure from Bayern in the last couple of minutes as they continue to pass and probe outside the Chelsea box. Robben comes close to forcing the issue with a driving run towards Luiz, but the Brazilian makes the clearance. Torres has an opportunity on the counter moments later, but he curls his effort high and wide of the post. End-to-end football with 18 minutes on the clock in Prague.

20 minIt's good stuff from Chelsea as they once more quell the Bayern attack before breaking with Hazard, but the winger decides to keep possession rather than look for the run of Torres. It is not a bad idea with Bayern having 68% of the ball thus far. It must be said that the atmosphere remains just sensational with the Bayern supporters letting their voices known. Can their team respond?

22 minStill no joy for the Champions League holders with Chelsea dealing with each high cross into the box. Ribery attempts to take matters into his own hands by sliding a pass beyond the Chelsea defence, but Cech is out to collect. No real chances for either side in the last couple of moments, but you just get the feeling that the opportunity will come.

24 minIndeed the chance does come as Ribery collects possession on the edge of the box before curling an effort towards the bottom corner, but Cech is down to make a fine save. The resulting corner is met by the head of Muller, but the danger is cleared. The first yellow card is handed to Ribery moments later, following a foul on Ramires.

26 minNot the best defending from Luiz as the Brazilian fells Muller outside the box. The resulting set piece is delivered to Kroos, but he loses possession under the challenge of Lampard. Hazard collects the ball down the other end moments later, but Dante is across to make the clearance. Bayern are having some problems dealing with the Belgian there is no question about that.

28 minNot too much to report in the last couple of moments with the referee forced to intervene following a number of late challenges, which has just slowed the tempo somewhat. It's brilliant football from Bayern moments later as Alaba finds himself unmarked in the box, but his cross is met by a blue shirt.

31 minLuiz looks an accident waiting to happen at the moment as Luiz pulls Mandzukic to the ground, only to be saved by the offside flag. Bayern continue to pass and probe outside the box, but there is just no way through this Chelsea defence, while the away side remain a serious threat on the counter. Still 1-0 with 31 minutes on the clock as Ribery curls another one just wide of the post.

33 minCHANCE! Another wonderful chance for Torres to score his second of the match as the Spaniard collects a pass from Schurrle before turning and striking an effort on goal, but it was always moving high and wide of the target. Bayern continue to dominate the possession, but Chelsea are so dangerous on the counter. That has been the story of the game thus far.

35 minAgain Muller is involved for Bayern as he collects possession down the left before whipping a dangerous cross into the box, but there are no takers. Has anyone seen Robben?! He was arguably Bayern's best performer last season, but he has just not been in this one. Real sense of frustration from the German outfit at the moment as Chelsea continue to break up each attack with relative ease.

38 minAnother opportunity for Ribery to test Cech from inside the box as he collects a pass from Lahm, but again he gets it horribly wrong as he curls his effort high and wide of the crossbar. He is much better than that. You just get the feeling that if Chelsea can hold on until the interval they will have a real chance of getting something this evening.

40 minCHANCE! Wonderful opportunity for Bayern as Muller collects a pass from Robben before attempting to slide his effort into the bottom corner, but Cahill is across to make the challenge. The resulting corner is met by the head of Muller, but again it is wide of the post. The German outfit are getting closer.

43 minLittle over two minutes of the first period remaining, with Chelsea still leading courtesy of that Torres strike in the early stages. Another Bayern attack breaks down before Luiz leads Chelsea on the counter, but eventually the danger is cleared for a corner. Suspect defending from the German side, but they do manage to clear the danger as Ramires fells Ribery outside the box.

45 minCahill becomes the second player to enter the book for a high challenge on Muller. There has been a few of those in the last 10 minutes or so. Bayern have had their moments, but Chelsea still have the lead in the final minute of the first period. Mourinho will surely be delighted with what he has seen thus far.

45 min+1HALF-TIME: Bayern 0-1 Chelsea

8.33pmSo there we have it. The referee brings the first period to an end with Chelsea leading courtesy of a wonderful strike from Torres. Bayern have had the majority of the possession and have had their moments in the final third, but Mourinho's side are dangerous on the counter. It is so delicately poised ahead of the second period.

8.38pmSTATISTICS: Bayern have had 57% of the possession, while they have also had six shots to Chelsea's four. The Blues have hit the target on just one occasion, with that effort proving to be decisive at this stage of proceedings. However, it is difficult to imagine that Bayern will not find the back of the net at some point this evening.

8.43pmBENCH WATCH: Bayern are without a number of key players this evening, but they do have options on the bench in the shape of Javi Martinez, Mario Gotze and Xherdan Shaqiri - players that would talk into any other team in European football. Chelsea, meanwhile, have the likes of Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku and Michael Essien in reserve.

46 minHere we go then. Both sets of players join us on the pitch for the second period. No changes for either side at the interval, but I suspect that will change if the score remains the same around the 65-minute mark. I will stick with my prediction of a Bayern win. They certainly have enough to turn it around. Chelsea get the second period underway.

47 minPositive start from Chelsea as Hazard collects possession down the left before feeding a low cross into the box, but Dante is across to clear at the vital moment. Their team might not be leading, but the Bayern fans remain in such wonderful voice. This little stadium in Prague is absolutely jumping. But Bayern need a goal.

47 minGOAL! Bayern 1-1 Chelsea (Ribery)

48 minOh my good grief. Thumping strike from Ribery as the Frenchman collects possession outside the box before planting one into the bottom corner. Just what Bayern ordered in the second period. It would be fair to say that Chelsea might be under some pressure for the next five minutes or so.

50 minBayern are worth that equaliser there is no question about that. Bayern almost turn it around as Ribery strikes one on the half-volley, but it just moves wide of the post. What a Super Cup we have had and it is only 50 minutes old. I would be astounded if we had seen the last of the goals. Chelsea really need to settle here.

52 minSlight sense of ill-feeling between the two sides in the last few moments with neither prepared to accept an apology when brought to the round. Chelsea just cannot keep hold of the possession at the moment with Bayern committing players to each attack. However, as we have seen, Chelsea have been devastating on the counter. Two contrasting styles in Prague, but equally effective.

54 minCouple of Bayern crosses in the last few moments, but Chelsea have been equal to the danger. You do wonder how long it will be until either manager looks to their bench. There is plenty of talent sitting on the sidelines there is no question about that. The next goal - if we indeed have one - could be all-important in a fixture of this magnitude.

56 minChelsea cannot seem to stem the flow at the moment with Ribery a constant danger down the left. Ramires has been Chelsea's best player, however, with a number of clever interceptions. Another half-chance arrives for Bayern from a free kick down the left - Ribery finds Robben, but the Dutchman scoops his effort high and wide of the crossbar.

58 minBayern make their first change of the match as Rafinha exits the field for Javi Martinez, who will slide into the midfield, with Lahm moving to right-back. Chelsea just cannot get the ball at the moment as Bayern continue to sweep the ball from left to right. Little over 30 minutes of normal time remaining in Prague.

61 minRibery continues to cause problems down the left as he cuts into the Chelsea box before delivering a dangerous cross towards Robben, but Cole is on hand to make the challenge. The Frenchman has another effort from close range moments later, but Ivanovic clears the danger. Simply all one-way traffic at the moment.

63 minHalf-chance for Chelsea as Torres wins possession down the right before finding Hazard, but the Belgian cannot find the run of Ramires inside the box. Incredible midfield battle taking place at the moment with challenges flying in from both sides. Who said that this trophy did not really matter? Try telling that to the players.

65 minDecent spell for Chelsea in the last couple of moments with the Premier League outfit forcing a couple of corners, but Bayern clear the danger with relative ease. You just get the feeling that there is one more goal in this. Bayern continue to have all the play, but you would not back against Chelsea scoring again on the counter.

65 minCHANCE! Incredible chance for Oscar to put Chelsea into the lead as Dante slips inside his own box, but Neuer just manages to make the save at the vital moment. How on earth did he miss? Bayern advance immediately down the other end with Ribery, but he is chopped down by Ramires, who receives a booking.

68 minThe closer we get to that 90-minute mark, the more likely we will head for extra time. Neither side will want to open up in the final 10 minutes or so I am certain of that. Luiz becomes the latest player to enter the book following a challenge on Mandzukic. Is he a red card waiting to happen? I would not back against it. Little over 20 minutes of normal time remaining.

70 minHalf-chance for Bayern as the German outfit work the ball into the box, Muller collects before attempting to slide an effort into the bottom corner, but Cole is across to make the challenge. From the resulting corner Robben meets a bouncing ball, but it was always moving wide of the post. Can Chelsea sucker punch Bayern again?

72 minWonderful work from Oscar as the Brazilian finds Hazard inside the box, but despite brilliant control, he can only roll his effort into the arms of Neuer. Oscar has an effort moments later, but Dante is on hand to clear. Good spell for Chelsea, but for how long? What a game between these two European rivals.

74 minBayern make their second change of the evening as Muller is replaced my Mario Gotze, who joined the club from Borussia Dortmund this summer. What a chance for him to make himself a hero. Still no changes for Chelsea, which is a surprise. Are we heading for extra time?

76 minRibery gestures to the supporters for more as the Frenchman wins another corner following good work down the right. The resulting set piece is delivered short to Kroos, who thumps one from outside the box, but it was always moving wide of the post. Little under 15 minutes of normal time remaining in Prague.

78 minBoateng is next to try his luck from outside the box as he strikes on goal, but it was straight into the arms of Cech. There looks to be a real problem for Martinez, meanwhile, as the Bayern midfielder falls to the ground clutching his right leg. It does not look too clever. The medical team are currently assessing the former Athletic Bilbao midfielder.

80 minIt is not good news for Martinez, who can barely walk. The stretcher does come on, but he manages to hobble off. Chelsea resume play down the left before Oscar finds some space outside the box, but the danger is cleared once more. However, Martinez steps back onto the field moments later.

81 minCROSSBAR! Wonderful chance for Chelsea to take the lead as Ivanovic meets a Lampard corner, but he thumps his header against the crossbar. It falls to Luiz, but Boateng manages to clear. Mandzukic is in the wars down the other end moments later, presenting another free kick to the German outfit.

83 minWe are just seven minutes away from extra time unless someone can provide a moment of inspiration. Mourinho is yet to look to his bench this evening, but Bayern have made two changes. It does appear that Martinez has been able to run off that twist, which is good news for the German outfit. You just get the feeling that there is a red card waiting to happen here.

85 minHalf-chance for Kroos as the German collects possession outside the box before attempting to strike one towards the top corner, but it deflects just over the crossbar. Bayern again take the corner short to Ribery, but Luiz is on hand to clear the danger. Little over five minutes of normal time remaining.

85 minCHANCE AND RED CARD! Wonderful opportunity for Chelsea to win it as Luiz meets a free kick from Lampard, but Neuer is on hand to make a fine save. Moments later, Chelsea are reduced to 10 men as Ramires dives into a challenge with Gotze, picking up his second yellow in the process.

88 minHaving seen that challenge a couple of times, it should have been a straight red. It was a really poor challenge from the Brazilian. Can Chelsea still force extra time? Bayern continue to press the Premier League outfit into their own half with little over two minutes of normal time remaining.

89 minChelsea make their first change of the match as Mikel enters the field for Schurrle. Tactical change for the Blues with the midfielder set to move alongside Lampard in the middle of the park. I suspect that we could have a few minutes of injury time due to the number of stoppages.

90 minCHANCE! Another opportunity for Bayern to win it late on as Ribery thumps a low effort from just inside the box, but it moves wide of the post. Chelsea simply cannot keep possession at the moment as we enter the final minute. The Blues will wait for the fourth official's board.

90 min+2Opportunity for Chelsea as Dante fells Torres outside the box. The resulting set piece is taken by Luiz, but his effort is straight into the wall. We are into the second of three added minutes in this European Super Cup.

90 min+3FULL-TIME: Bayern 1-1 Chelsea - the match enters extra time.

9.39pmSo there we have it. The referee brings the 90 minutes to an end with the two sides level at 1-1. The Premier League outfit are down to 10 men after losing Ramires to a second yellow card late on. Bayern have dominated the possession, but Chelsea must be credited for their defending this evening.

9.43pmThat said, it is difficult not to make Bayern favourites to claim the trophy. A quick look at the statistics from the 90 minutes: Bayern have had 57% of the possession, while they had six shots on goal to Chelsea's three. The English side's only attempt on target brought their goal, which came in the eighth minute.

9.45pmPlenty of serious faces on display as both managers go through their plans for extra time. You suspect that one goal could be enough to pick up the win this evening. Just a reminder that if the two sides cannot be separated with another 30 minutes, then we will head for penalties.

ET 1 minHere we go then. Chelsea get the extra time period underway. Will the Blues play for penalties? That would well be their best chance of claiming the trophy. Time for someone to make themselves a hero. The Bayern supporters remain in wonderful voice.

ET 3 minHalf-chance for Bayern as Robben wins a free kick down the right. The Dutchman takes the resulting set piece, but fires it high and wide of the target. Chelsea finally have possession with Mikel, but they are finding it difficult to put any sort of tempo together. That said, they have the ability to threaten on the counter.

ET 3 minGOAL! Bayern 1-2 Chelsea (Hazard)

ET 4 minChelsea take the lead in the third minute of extra time as Hazard cuts inside his full back before thumping a powerful strike into the bottom corner. Could Neuer have done a little bit better? The German goalkeeper should have saved it in my opinion.

ET 7 minBayern have to come behind for a second time this evening, but Chelsea have upped the tempo once more. Another half-chance arrives on the counter as Hazard comes close to collecting a pass from Lampard, but Dante makes the challenge. Can Bayern score? They will get opportunities surely.

ET 8 minBayern make a change as Robben leaves the field with Shaqiri entering proceedings. It just hasn't quite happened for the former Chelsea winger this evening. Bayern have the best part of 20 minutes to find a goal. It is so delicately poised.

ET 10 minHalf-chance for Bayern as Lahm finds some space down the left before delivering a low cross towards Ribery, but the Frenchman loses control at the vital moment. Chelsea make their second change of the evening moments later as Lukaku enters the field in place of Torres, who has hardly featured since the restart.

ET 13 minBayern continue to pass and probe outside the Chelsea box, but they just cannot find a way through with Mikel operating as another centre-back. A half-chance arrives moments later as Shaqiri has an effort from close range, but Lampard is on hand to make the save.

ET 15 minBrilliant power from Lukaku as the Belgian bursts past Boateng, but he loses control at the vital moment, allowing Lahm across to clear the danger. For the first time this evening, the Bayern supporters have been quietened.

ET 15 minBayern continue to force the issue in the final moments of the half with a couple of corners in quick succession, but the German outfit cannot make it count. Gutsy performance from Chelsea, but there is still a lot of football to be played this evening. Well a lot when you have 10 men.

ET 15 min+1HALF-TIME: Bayern 1-2 Chelsea

10.02pmSo there we have it. The referee brings the first period to an end with Chelsea leading courtesy of that strike from Hazard. They are 15 minutes away from claiming the European Super Cup, which would be a big blow to Bayern there is no question about that.

ET 16 minHere we go then. Bayern get the second period of extra time underway. You just get the feeling that there will be another big opportunity in the remaining 15 minutes or so. But will it be taken? Be sure to stay with us as this one unfolds in Prague.

ET 18 minBayern continue to force the issue in the final third, but Chelsea just keep clearing the danger on each occasion. Again the German outfit work the ball from left to right before Ribery crosses into the box, but the attack breaks down with a foul on Hazard. Chelsea will attempt to run down the clock here there is no question about that.

ET 20 minCHANCE! Wonderful chance for Bayern to equalise Mandzukic as meets a cross from Robben, but Cech is across to make a fine save. The Chelsea goalkeeper is called into action again moments later and answers the question. He might have just won the Super Cup for his team.

ET 22 minIt is a case of anywhere will do for Chelsea at the moment as they continue to clear the danger on each occasion. However, there is still the best part of 10 minutes for Bayern to find another opportunity. Can Chelsea hold on?!

ET 24 minGood break from Oscar as the Brazilian collects possession down the right before finding Lukaku, but the move breaks down as Martinez comes back to collect. Another half-chance comes for the German side down the other end, but Cahill manages to clear under pressure from Kroos. Final change for Chelsea moments later as Hazard is replaced by John Terry.

ET 26 minCHANCE! Another wonderful chance for the home side as Gotze finds himself inside the box, but his effort is blocked by Cech. Neuer comes forward moments later to clear with a towering header, but the attack breaks down. The pressure continues to rise.

ET 28 minReal chance for Bayern to make something of a free kick outside the box as Alaba is felled by Lampard. The resulting set piece is taken by Ribery, but his effort is saved by Cech. Wonderful save from the Chelsea stopper. Is that the final chance?!

ET 30 minConfirmation that Cole was booked for attempting to gain a yard or two in the wall. Time is running out for Bayern as Chelsea clear the danger once more. It has not been pretty, but it does appear that they are heading for the Super Cup as Boateng thumps it high and wide of the crossbar.

ET 30 min+1GOAL! Bayern 2-2 Chelsea (Martinez)
