Besart Berisha downs Perth Glory

Besart Berisha proves the difference as his 57th-minute strike is enough to earn Brisbane Roar a slender 1-0 victory over Perth Glory this morning.

Brisbane Roar have moved four points clear at the summit of the A-League standings following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Perth Glory at the Suncorp Stadium.

Both sides cancelled each other out in the opening 45 minutes, with Besart Berisha - who opened the scoring in the 3-1 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers last week - the recipient of the game's first opportunity, but the 27-year-old saw his volley tipped over by goalkeeper Danny Vukovic.

The Albania international would not be denied though, as the striker fired home the winning goal on 57 minutes following a good pass from Thomas Broich.

Ian Ferguson's men tried but failed in their quest to restore parity and Roar held on to extend their lead over second-placed Western Sydney to seven points.
