Newcastle face a tough trip to Championship side Brighton in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday. Sports Mole takes a look at the two sides.

Of all the FA Cup fourth-round ties this weekend, Newcastle United's trip to Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion could provide one of the surprise results.

The Seagulls are only two points off the playoff places on the domestic front after a strong start to the season.

However, Newcastle are also confounding expectations as they sit sixth in the Premier League table.

Brighton playmaker Vicente Rodriguez is likely to face a late fitness test, while striker Craig Mackail-Smith is expected to lead the attack for Gus Poyet's side.

Despite Senegal's elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations, Demba Ba and new signing Papiss Cisse are still unavailable for the Magpies.

Meanwhile, a decision on captain Fabricio Coloccini could be made before kickoff after the defender recently pulled out of training with a groin problem.

Current form:

Brighton: LLLWWW
Newcastle: LWLWWL

Possible lineups:

Brighton: Brezovan; Greer, Dunk, Calderon, Painter; Sparrow, Bridcutt, Forster-Caskey, Barnes; Mackail-Smith, Buckley

Newcastle: Krul; Santon, Williamson, R Taylor, Simpson; Cabaye, Guthrie, Ben Arfa, Obertan; Best, Sh Ameobi

Sports Mole says: 1-1
