Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng is reportedly favouring a move to England, Spain or Italy when his contract expires with the German giants on June 30.

Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng reportedly wants his next step in his career to be in England, Spain or Italy.

The 32-year-old's contract with the German giants expires on June 30, after continuing to be a central part to Bayern's team having made 39 appearances for the club in all competitions this season.

Boateng has missed out on a place in Joachim Low's 26-strong Germany squad for the European Championships this summer, but the centre-back is believed to want to work his way back into the national side for future competitions.

According to Goal, the German international has been linked with a move to the MLS, however Boateng is said to prefer to stay in Europe to continue his career.

With Hansi Flick set to become manager of the Germany side after the Euros this summer, Boateng's relationship with the boss from their Bayern connection could aid his chances of getting his 77th cap after not featuring for the national side since 2018.

Boateng's departure from Bayern will bring to an end his 10-year spell with the club, where he has made 363 appearances and won two Champions League trophies.
