Bundesliga week 29 predictions including Bayern Munich vs. Fortuna Dusseldorf

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of this weekend's Bundesliga action, including Bayern Munich vs. Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Freiburg vs. B. Leverkusen (Friday, 7.30pm)

Top-four chasing Bayer Leverkusen will be looking to hit back on Friday night when they take on Freiburg at the Schwarzwald-Stadion.

Leverkusen suffered a heavy 4-1 home loss against Wolfsburg in midweek to drop down to fifth in the Bundesliga, while Freiburg's inconsistent form continued with a 3-3 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt.

We say: Freiburg 0-1 Bayer Leverkusen

Even accounting for their surprise midweek loss, Leverkusen have still won 12 of their last 14 matches and will be keen to get back to winning ways on Friday. This fixture often finishes all square, but we are backing the visitors to carve out a narrow victory and climb back into the top four.

Mainz 05 vs. Hoffenheim (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Mainz 05 head into Saturday's Bundesliga encounter with Hoffenheim sitting just one point above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, the visitors travel to the Opel Arena sitting in seventh position in the standings after their 3-1 victory over FC Koln in midweek.

We say: Mainz 05 1-1 Hoffenheim

Neither side have kept a clean sheet since the resumption and we feel that will continue on Saturday. However, with much to play for, expect a fierce battle to end with the teams being relatively content with a share of the spoils.

Wolfsburg vs. Frankfurt (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Wolfsburg will be looking to strengthen their grip on sixth position in the Bundesliga table when they welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to the Volkswagen Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Oliver Glasner's side are currently in charge of the final Europa League spot in Germany's top flight, while Frankfurt occupy 14th position, just two points above the bottom three.

We say: Wolfsburg 2-1 Frankfurt

There is no question that Frankfurt are capable of picking up a positive result this weekend despite their struggles this season. Wolfsburg were terrific against Leverkusen last time out, though, and we are finding it difficult to back anything other than a home victory, albeit by a narrow margin.

Hertha Berlin vs. Augsburg (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Hertha Berlin play host to Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon with just four points separating the two clubs in the standings.

While 10th-placed Hertha are unbeaten since the resumption of Germany's top flight, Augsburg have recorded four points from their last two fixtures.

We say: Hertha Berlin 2-1 Augsburg

While Hertha have been terrific since the restart, we feel that this will be a closely-fought battle. Nevertheless, with a number of teams above them in their sights, we expect the home side to prevail by a narrow margin, leaving Augsburg to keep looking over their shoulder towards the relegation zone.

Schalke vs. Werder Bremen (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Relegation-threatened Werder Bremen will be looking to build on two positive results when they travel to an out-of-form Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

Bremen, who occupy 17th spot in the table, have picked up four points from their last two matches, but Schalke have lost each of their three games since the Bundesliga resumed on May 16.

We say: Schalke 1-1 Werder Bremen

Schalke have really struggled since the return of Bundesliga action, and it is therefore difficult to back the hosts with any real confidence despite Bremen's issues this season. The visitors have actually won on their last two trips to Schalke in the league, but we fancy a low-scoring draw on Saturday afternoon.

Bayern vs. Dusseldorf (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich will be looking to further their chances of an eighth successive German top flight title when they host Fortuna Dusseldorf on Saturday evening.

In contrast, Dusseldorf are embroiled in a relegation battle after 28 games, but they did manage to pick up a vital three points against Schalke last time out.

We say: Bayern Munich 4-0 Fortuna Dusseldorf

Dusseldorf produced a terrific display of defensive solidarity in their midweek victory over Schalke, but they are now facing a Bayern side who are cruising to Bundesliga glory, so we cannot see anything other than a comfortable home victory for the 29-time champions.

Borussia M'bach vs. Union Berlin (Sunday, 2.30pm)

Borussia Monchengladbach manager Marco Rose pictured in February 2020© Reuters

Borussia Monchengladbach will be looking to bounce back from two disappointing results when they welcome Union Berlin to Borussia-Park in the Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon.

Marco Rose's side have lost to Bayer Leverkusen and drawn with Werder Bremen in their last two games to drop down into fourth position in the table, while Berlin sit 13th with 31 points to show from their 28 matches.

We say: Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 Union Berlin

Gladbach will be determined to bounce back this weekend after two disappointing results, and we are finding it difficult to look past the home side. Berlin have the second-worst away record in Germany's top flight this season and could be in for a tough afternoon at Borussia-Park.

SC Paderborn vs. Dortmund (Sunday, 5.00pm)

Borussia Dortmund will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Bayern Munich when they continue their 2019-20 Bundesliga season away to basement side SC Paderborn on Sunday.

BVB saw their six-game winning run in the league ended by Bayern on Tuesday, and the result has left them seven points behind the reigning champions ahead of the next set of fixtures in Germany's top flight.

We say: Paderborn 0-2 Dortmund

Dortmund's away form this season has been far from perfect, but Paderborn have the second-worst home form in the Bundesliga this term, picking up just eight points from 14 matches. Favre's side will be determined to return to winning ways, and we fancy BVB to collect all three points in routine fashion.
