How Bayern Munich could line up against Union Berlin

Sports Mole looks at how Bayern Munich could line up in Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Union Berlin.

Bayern Munich will be looking for their seventh straight win in all competitions when they take on Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

The German champions beat Augsburg 2-0 last weekend and are currently top of the table, four points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund.

The fixture will take place behind closed doors due to the coronavirus outbreak which has played havoc with the sporting calendar across the world.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Bayern could line up at Stadion An der Alten Forsterei.

POSS BAY XI vs. BER

Out: Robert Lewandowski (shin), Niklas Sule (knee),
Doubtful: Ivan Perisic (ankle), Kingsley Coman (muscle), Thiago (illness), Joshua Zirkzee (foot)

Bayern remain without the services of Robert Lewandowski and Niklas Sule through shin and knee injuries respectively, while Ivan Perisic is again expected to miss out as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Thiago is also a doubt due to illness, but Jerome Boateng has recovered from a stomach virus while Kingsley Coman is expected to overcome a muscular problem to start.

Should 18-year-old Joshua Zirkzee be unable to feature due to a foot problem then Serge Gnabry could get the nod through the middle, meaning that Philippe Coutinho should keep his spot out wide.

Leon Goretzka should get the nod if Thiago fails to recover in time, although Javi Martinez and Lucas Hernandez are expected to be named on the bench once again.

Thomas Muller and Joshua Kimmich should both keep their spots in the starting XI.
