Real Valladolid pour more misery on relegation-threatened Barcelona B

Barcelona B remain four points from safety with just three games remaining in the Segunda Division due to a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Real Valladolid.

Barcelona B's hopes of Segunda Division survival have taken a major hit courtesy of a 3-1 defeat at home to Real Valladolid this evening.

The relegation-threatened hosts went into the match having won for just the second time in 15 games on Saturday, but they soon found themselves behind at the Mini Estadi.

Valladolid, unbeaten in six before tonight's match, went ahead after just 12 minutes when Gerard Gumbau turned the ball into his own net.

It took Barcelona until just before the hour mark to respond, with Jean Marie Dongou levelling things up with his 10th goal of the season.

That parity lasted just three minutes, however, as Hernan Perez's 62nd-minute strike restored Valladolid's advantage.

Things got even worse for the troubled home side eight minutes from time as the visitors all but put the game to bed with a third goal courtesy of Jeffren.

Jordi Vinyals's side could not find any response in the closing stages, leaving them still four points from safety with three games left, in addition to having played a match more than the teams around them in the table.

Valladolid, meanwhile, move up to fourth in the table and are now just three points adrift of the final automatic promotion spot.
