Jack Wilshere: 'England aren't technically poor'

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere dismisses claims that English players are technically inferior to other Eeuropean nations such as world champions Spain.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has hit back at claims that England internationals are not technically good enough.

The Three Lions man believes that while their playing style does not resemble world and European champions Spain, that does not necessarily mean that the squad are inferior.

He told RWDmag.com: "Just because we don't play like Spain doesn't mean we haven't got a high level of technical ability.

"We're changing our game all the time and we want to adapt it to a level where we are going to be able to win things at an international level.

"If that requires passing it around a bit more, then we'll do it. But at the moment, we're doing all right. We've got to the World Cup, so we'll stick to our guns for the moment."

Wilshere is a doubt for this summer's World Cup as he continues to nurse a foot injury.
