Barcelona, Juventus and Inter Milan have all been credited with an interest alongside Liverpool and Arsenal, who are understood to have been joined in the race for his signature by fellow Premier League outfit Watford.

The likes of Borussia Dortmund, Porto and Valencia were also named as potential suitors for the full-back.

Emerson, who is a Brazilian Under-20 international, is currently contracted to Atletico Mineiro until 2022.
