Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a straight-swap deal.

Arsenal are reportedly willing to offer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona in exchange for out-of-favour winger Ousmane Dembele.

Aubameyang's future continues to be of major concern to the Arsenal hierarchy, with the club captain's contract set to expire next summer with no renewal in sight.

Meanwhile, Dembele has failed to hit the ground running at Barcelona since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund, being restricted to just five La Liga appearances during an injury hit 2019-20 campaign.

According to Mundo Deportivo, both sides are desperate to find a feasible solution for their players and a straight-swap deal is a realistic option.

With the coronavirus pandemic threatening the omission of big-money moves during the summer window, swap and part-exchange deals are likely to become commonplace as clubs are forced to reassess their transfer strategies.

Nevertheless, Barca are supposedly not giving up in their pursuit of Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez, and Dembele is one of several first-team players that the Catalan giants would be willing to offload in order to raise the required funds for the striker.
