Jan Vertonghen unsure of Arsenal title challenge

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen believes that it is too early to call Arsenal contenders for the Premier League title.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has claimed that it is too early to call Arsenal Premier League title contenders.

The Gunners moved five points clear at the top of the table on Saturday thanks to a 2-0 win at home to Liverpool.

"It's too early to call Arsenal the title contender," the Belgian international told Telenet.

"The only thing you can say is that they're stronger than last season. They have a stronger squad, can play different systems and have a great bunch of creativity in their midfield, although I expect still a lot from Manchester City."

Spurs are currently five points adrift of Arsenal in the standings after 10 games.
