Belgium skipper Thomas Vermaelen says England have a chance to make a big impact at Euro 2012.

Belgium and Arsenal star Thomas Vermaelen expects a strong England performance in this summer's European Championships.

Vermaelen captained his country in a losing effort against England and has been quick to talk up the chances of Roy Hodgson's side at Euro 2012.

"It's a good side," Vermaelen told Sky Sports News. "They have a lot of experienced players, good players.

"They all play in the Premier League so I think they will do well in the Europeans."

Vermaelen impressed again at Wembley but was unable to stop England leaving for Poland and Ukraine with a victory.
