Manchester United reportedly consider selling Alex Telles in order to raise funds for a move for Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier.

Manchester United could reportedly be willing to sell Alex Telles in order to fund a deal for Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier.

Telles arrived from Porto in the summer of 2020 with a glowing reputation, but a resurgent Luke Shaw kept the Brazil international out of the team for large portions of the 2020-21 season.

The 28-year-old featured just nine times in the Premier League for United - starting eight of them - and he is already being linked with an exit from the club following his underwhelming first campaign.

The Red Devils are rumoured to be in negotiations for Trippier as they seek competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back, but Atletico are standing firm on their £43m asking price.

With United supposedly willing to fork out just £20m at this moment in time, Sky Sports News claims that Telles could be on his way out as a means of generating the remaining funds.

The left-back remains under contract at United until 2024, and he provided four assists from 24 appearances in total last term.
