The Vicar of Dibley's Trevor Peacock dies at the age of 89 from "a dementia-related illness".

Trevor Peacock, known for playing the lovable Jim Trott on The Vicar of Dibley, has died at the age of 89.

In a short statement, his family said that he passed away on Monday morning "from a dementia-related illness".

Peacock had appeared in every episode of the BBC sitcom as Jim, known for his "no, no, no, no" catchphrase, up until the 2015 special in aid of Comic Relief.

Paying tribute, Dawn French shared a picture of the two of them behind the scenes on the show alongside the caption: "Night Trev. I love you."

The show has sadly lost most of its cast in the space of the last seven years, with five of the eight original stars now having died.
