Sky announces a fifth series of comedy Brassic, with filming due to begin next week.

Sky has announced that original comedy Brassic will return for a fifth series in 2023.

The news - revealed at the Edinburgh TV Festival - comes ahead of the premiere of the fourth series on Sky Max on September 7.

Filming of the new eight-episode run will begin next week, with key stars Joe Gilgun, Michelle Keegan, Damien Molony and Ryan Sampson all expected to return.

Sky has also announced seven new comedy shorts starring the likes of Rosie Jones, Desiree Burch, Jordan Stephens and Leslie Ash.

The shorts programme has previously led to full series commissions of Bloods, now in its second series, and Sharon Horgan's Dreamland.
