The BBC announces a second series of Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams, in which the former England skipper coaches a team of young cricketing amateurs.

The BBC has announced that Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams will return for a second series.

The show, which averaged over 3 million viewers on BBC One earlier this year, saw the former England captain put together a cricket team composed of unenthusiastic youngsters in his hometown of Preston with the hopes of inspiring them to love the game.

The new four-part series will see Freddie catch up with some of the teens from the first series, including Sean, Ben and Adnan, who will be joined by some new recruits on "a new adventure".

"Working with the boys was one of the most incredible experiences of my life but the work is not finished yet," Freddie said. "I'm really pleased we'll be continuing the hard work we have all put in, but on a much bigger scale."

The new series is expected to air early next year.
