ITV orders a revival of Deal Or No Deal with Stephen Mulhern replacing Noel Edmonds as host.

Deal Or No Deal will return later this year on ITV with Stephen Mulhern as host, it has been confirmed.

The gameshow - originally hosted by Noel Edmonds - sees contestants choose from 22 boxes, each containing prize amounts ranging from 1p to £250,000.

The show was a staple of Channel 4's early evening schedule from 2005 to 2016, with more than 3,000 episodes being aired.

An ITV revival had been rumoured for some time and now the broadcaster has officially announced a new series for broadcast later this year.

"Wow, what an opportunity, I'm beyond excited to be hosting the brand new series," said Mulhern.

"I've always been such a huge fan of the show - so much so, I've been practising at home with small cereal boxes!

"It looks so simple but it's an incredibly compelling game for both those playing and the viewers watching at home.

"It's one of the greatest shows of all time and to be the new host is an honour! I can't wait to get started."

Transmission details have yet to be confirmed, although the show is expected to air in weekend primetime on ITV1 and ITVX this autumn.
