A crew member working on The Conners dies suddenly on set as the comedy wraps up its third season.

An unnamed crew member died suddenly on the set of US comedy The Conners yesterday, production company Werner Entertainment has confirmed.

The show - a spinoff of Roseanne - was on the final day of filming for its third season in Los Angeles when the crew member suffered a medical emergency.

According to TMZ, show medics attempted CPR but were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, Werner said: "With heavy hearts we regret to confirm that a member of our technical crew suffered a fatal medical event today.

"He was a much loved member of The Conners and Roseanne families for over 25 years. As we remember our beloved colleague, we ask that you respect the privacy of his family and loved ones as they begin their grieving process."

Broadcast network ABC has yet to comment on the news.
