News broadcaster CNN has ordered a US version of Have I Got News For You to air in the run-up to this year's election.
The satirical news panel quiz show has been a staple of the BBC schedules in the UK since 1990 and has run for an impressive 67 series to date.
The US version - to be made by the same team behind the UK show - will go out on Saturday nights in the weeks before the November 5 showdown between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Hosts and panellists have yet to be confirmed.
"We have been looking for innovative ways to explore new formats and expand the boundaries of CNN programming," said Amy Entelis, evp of creative development for CNN Worldwide. "The series is the standard bearer of the genre and ripe for its American reincarnation as we revitalize Saturday nights on CNN."
The BBC is also developing a new spinoff of the show, Have I Got Sport For You, to replace the recently-axed Question of Sport.
