Channel 4 confirms an all-star voice cast for its Christmas 2023 animated special Mog's Christmas.

Channel 4 has announced an all-star voice cast for its Christmas 2023 animated special Mog's Christmas.

The one-off is an adaptation of the classic Judith Kerr book about a family whose pet cat Mog is feeling neglected in the run-up to Christmas.

Frightened by the arrival of a Christmas tree, Mog seeks refuge on the roof of the family home, putting herself in possible peril.

The cast includes Kerr's daughter Tacy Kneale as Mog, Claire Foy as the mother, Benedict Cumberbatch as the father, Miriam Margolyes and Maggie Steed as the aunts, Zawe Ashton as the neighbour and Charlie Higson as the jolly uncle.

C4's drama commissioning editor Gwawr Lloyd said: "We are utterly delighted to be bringing Mog to screen with our partners (Lupus Films). It is the perfect Christmas tale full of fun and adventure with a star-studded cast including Claire Foy as Mrs Thomas and Benedict Cumberbatch as Mr Thomas.

"Judith Kerr's much-loved Mog will be a great addition to this collection and a really special festive treat for the audience."

The team behind Mog's Christmas previously collaborated with Channel 4 on the acclaimed animation The Tiger Who Came to Tea.
