Channel 4 is reportedly still in discussions about a third series of The Bridge but has yet to make a final decision on its future.

The reality show, hosted by AJ Odudu, sees strangers brought together to build a bridge from scratch across a stretch of water in order to reach a cash prize.

The first series was filmed in the UK and aired during lockdown in 2020, while the second series aired last summer and was set in the more exotic location of Vietnam.

Channel 4 has yet to commission a third series but according to The Sun, the broadcaster has not axed the show outright and is still in discussions about continuing the format.

"Channel 4 have not yet committed to another series of The Bridge," a source told the newspaper.

"While execs are still in active discussions over a potential third series it's not looking likely it will return this year."

A C4 spokesperson confirmed that "conversations are ongoing" over a new series.
