Strictly judges and professionals to appear during virtual dance stream

Strictly Come Dancing judges and pro dancers are to guest in a live social dance event tonight.

Strictly Come Dancing judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse will make guest appearances during a live virtual dance stream tonight.

The free event - streamed live from the Royal Festival Hall within the Southbank Centre - is an evening of dance and jazz designed to help combat loneliness this winter and will also be screened in more than 3,000 care homes around the UK.

In addition to the Strictly judges, pro dancers from the show including Aljaz Skorjanec, Amy Dowden, Neil Jones, Dianne Buswell, Johannes Radebe, Luba Mushtuk and Nancy Xu will also make cameos.

"The Southbank Centre's virtual social dance is a brilliant way to get dancing at a time when we are unable to physically access our local arts centres and dance classes," said Ballas.

"It's so important to keep active and keep our spirits up and I hope people of all ages across the UK join in from their living rooms and kitchens, as well as everyone in care homes across the country. I am thrilled to be making a guest appearance!"

The event is streamed tonight from 7pm on the Southbank website and the show will subsequently be available for streaming all weekend.
