The BBC opens up applications for the ticket ballot for this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

The BBC has begun accepting applications for tickets to this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Interest in watching the show in person at Elstree Studios is always high so tickets are allocated via a random ballot - and due to COVID distancing restrictions this year, fewer tickets will be available than normal.

Furthermore, tickets are only being offered in bundles of four, with all ticketholders required to come from the same household or support bubble.

Applicants can register their interest via the BBC website between now and 10pm on Wednesday, August 25.

Tickets are available for every live show of the series, starting on Saturday, September 25 and running through to the final on Saturday, December 18. There is additional availability on Saturday, September 11 for the launch show, while a recording date for the Christmas special has not yet been confirmed.

The celebrity lineup for the new series was finalised last week, with the likes of Adam Peaty, Sara Davies, Tom Fletcher, Greg Wise, Dan Walker and AJ Odudu all taking part.
