Eamonn Holmes reveals that he is in hospital in an attempt to get to the bottom of a mystery agonising pain.

Eamonn Holmes has revealed that he has taken himself to hospital after coming down with "pain like I've never experienced in my life".

The 61-year-old TV presenter has been tweeting about suffering from "chronic pain" in recent days and turned to a physio for help.

In an update on Thursday evening, however, Holmes shared a photo from what appeared to be A&E after his condition took a turn for the worse.

Holmes is due to return to This Morning hosting duties with wife Ruth Langsford on Monday.
