Tim Allen denies being dead

Last Man Standing star Tim Allen takes to Twitter to deny rumours that he has died.

Comedian Tim Allen has taken to social media to assure fans that he is still alive after rumours spread that he had died.

The Toy Story, Home Improvement and Last Man Standing star, 67, was shocked to find himself trending on Twitter early on Thursday, with many users speculating that he had died.

"Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to a beautiful day in Michigan only to find out I'm dead?!" he wrote. "How did it happen? Can anyone tell me? I'm DYING to know.. #DeadManWalking"

It later emerged that Allen had been randomly selected by two popular sports bloggers to see if they could get him trending on Twitter, an experiment that appears to have been successful.

Allen is just the latest in a long line of celebrities to have their death prematurely decided by Twitter, while the deaths of stars including Leslie Nielsen and Tony Hart trend on the platform every year despite them having passed away many years previously.
